Reaching out a hand never hurt anyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The other day a woman was in the store with her three kids, and she was buying a few small gifts for them for Christmas, I over heard her tell her oldest child, the only boy that she was sorry but this year she could only afford to spend 20 dollars on each of them. The boy said it's okay mom, since dad died I know we dont have it, spend my 20 on Cybil, and Sarah. The mother reached over and kissed her sons head, and said no- you deserve something also. I was right behind this woman in a check out lane at Wal-Mart. The lines were over crowded with people buying all kinds of things, tv's, stereo's, toys galore, and other nice expensive items.. When the cashier told her what her total would be, my grandmother who was standing with me, said here, please let me pay, almost the same time I tried to say I'd pay for it, the woman didnt know what to say...she looked almost as if lightning struck her as my grandmother handed the cashier a hundred dollar bill, and told the cashier to give the change to the woman. I never felt as proud of anyone as I did my grandmother as I did last Sunday. This may seem small to some of us, but this women offered to clean our houses, or repay the money at a later date, my grandmother said no, and told the woman to make sure the kids had a good meal for Christmas.. This isnt all, when we got to our car to load it, the woman walked over to the car, and said "I thank you with all my heart, my husband died last year of heart desease, but what you just did will make my heart strong with love for people forever. My son wanted me to give yall this," she held out a little peice of paper, she said it was a prayer clothe. It was a little peice of cloth cut into a square. My grandmother said "thankyou, I will pray for you all every night." That was all. I dont beleive in God, but if I'm wrong, and there is a Heaven and Hell, my grandmother will be sure to go to Heaven, and light up the faces of everyone who meets her..............

Date: 12/19/2001 6:22:00 PM  From Authorid: 39887    What a wonderful grandmother you have. I wish I had her name and address, I would send her a card of thanks myself. What an unselfish thing to do for a total stranger. God will bless her, God blessed you for having her as a grandmother. Please tell her Merry Christmas for me. What an angel!!!
