The Christmas Season brings about a warm feeling within
Setting aside the sorrows buried through the year
Finding ourselves placed in a time of joy and harmony
Momentarily pushing back so many things we've come to fear
Wanting to touch the hearts and souls of others
We search, hoping to still see the good in all mankind
Along each walk of life, around every corner we turn
Indeed praying that this we give will also be able to find
An array of decorations can be found in each neighborhood
From the homes of the wealthy to those who are in despair
Thousands of twinkling lights to a lone little shining star
Are all hung proudly with such gentleness and care
In your mind's eye, you can see everything so very clear…
The little green twig tucked in a pot with its paper ornaments
As well as the most spectacular Christmas tree standing tall
Each to be surrounded with its very own special presents
Under one there'll be wonderful gifts selected for everyone
Beautifully wrapped and decorated from where they were bought
Under the other there will also be very special gifts to be found
All handmade, bundled in cloth and tied, with love and caring thought
Knowing that love and happiness is found no matter where the home is
Realizing just how special of a time this is for each and everyone
Celebrated alike or differently, the true meaning is still there for all
The feeling in the heart is what matters when all is said and done
Yes, it's the time of year to set aside that which we have come to fear
Lay down our troubles; allow our hearts to once again fill with love
Reach out to those around us, show respect to those less fortunate
As we allow the Spirit of Christmas to gently flow down from above
