Date: 11/30/2001 2:59:00 PM From Authorid: 43114 I want an autherntic tree for Christmas....its tradition, and i hold some traditions closely...having a fake tree is like having a plastic eye...or going to McDonalds for Thanksgiving, even though you are perfectly capable of cooking thanksgiving dinner, or wearing a Loud hawaiian shirt to a funeral...or flushing the toilet with your nose...i think a good old real live tree will do finely OLunar ShogunO |
Date: 11/30/2001 3:02:00 PM From Authorid: 16845 LOL!!!!! I was getting ready to ask what kind of sick person woudl post this...LOL NO we don't do real trees anymore since I've been around 19yrs....we've only done a real tree maybe three times....we got a new artifical tree in 1999 right after christmas for dirt cheap. nope we've got a male dog, there's NO WAY we can have a real tree in the house, it's hard enough to keep him away from the fake one....YES he has...uh...yeah once before.....LOL! |

LMAO, I love the title..LMAO. I was saw the title and thought, OMG what's wrong with this person??? LOL. Anyways, yeah we always get artificial trees.. I don't think it's very environment-friendly to cut down a big tree, stand it up in your house for a couple weeks, then dump it somewhere to rot. It's just sick! Good post |
Date: 11/30/2001 3:04:00 PM ( From Author ) From Authorid: 19342 Thanks guys,What are we going to tell our kids when, all we got to leave them is waste and destruction? |
Date: 11/30/2001 3:05:00 PM From Authorid: 10245 yeah plastic is great for the environment Ever hear of a tree farm? Every tree cut is replaced with a new one...they won't run out...besides that the corpse makes great mulch |
Date: 11/30/2001 3:10:00 PM From Authorid: 8278 OMG the title scared me. LOL but it did get my attention. i have an artificial tree. i only had a real tree once. and i didnt like it. so i stick to artificial |

Mercury, ive heard of tree farms! Surprised? Lets use that room to plant more POTATOES! Plastic can be recycled right? And that tree in your living room,is not fire repelant, like some of the new artificial trees, your live tree is also,a fire hazard! Thanks for the reply. |
Date: 11/30/2001 3:11:00 PM From Authorid: 37354 Most of these trees are specifically planted in order to sell at Christmas time. This is a big business. The treegrowers plant trees and harvest them every year. It is a renewable resource. Hugo |
Date: 11/30/2001 3:15:00 PM From Authorid: 46527 Do what I always do, get one with roots, when the season is over plant it back in the garden until next year....saves money too......La Sorcière Rouge |
Date: 11/30/2001 3:17:00 PM From Authorid: 12006 Hey, I was kinda looking forward to reading about people who actually put dead human corpses in their houses for the holidays. This disappointed me. |
Date: 11/30/2001 3:19:00 PM From Authorid: 33925 ummmmm....Im using a REAL tree...I go to tree farms...that is what they are there for...and they are replaced every year...If someone would buy me an artificial Christmas tree I would happily use it, since I cant afford the outrageous prices as well as get 4 children ready for Christmas..so I guess until then..the REAL DEAL is it!! LOL..xoxo |
Date: 11/30/2001 3:22:00 PM From Authorid: 39258 IT'S A FREAKING TREE!!!!!!!!! jeez stargazer.. im all about holding hands and saving the planet.. but since i was in my moms WOMB, we've used a real tree.. im sorry, a tree doesnt have feelings and call my cold, but i don't care. thats the point of TREE FARMS.. their cash crop is in december.. thats why they are rasied.. just to be cut down and sold.. just like cows.. you make 'em fat then butcher 'em up for more meat.. so .. im using a real tree.. call me cold and heartless.. but like i first said...ITS A TREEEEEEE |
Date: 11/30/2001 3:23:00 PM From Authorid: 32806 Agreed, we are a wasteful species when it comes to taking life of all kinds. BUY PLASTIC!!!!!! |

And LOL Becky, we have a male dog in the house also; but strange enough he has never "marked his territory" on it (just every where else). We have always gotten a real tree, except the one time we put an artificial one in our yard, I don't know what my mom was thinking with that one. I guess it's tradition, and we even used to cut our own trees we had growing on our land, but last year all of them were too big or to small. Plus we're definatly not enviromentalist tree huggers. Still we are a lot less wastefull than some of the hypocrite Green Party, I bet we have planted more trees in our yard than most of those people. |

Date: 11/30/2001 3:43:00 PM From Authorid: 21867 And another thing...vegetarianism IS WRONG!!! You yourself said it...trees are alive...just like vegetables...they are living beings...just like animals. You can hurt a plant just like you can hurt an animal...sure the plant doesn't cry out in pain...but it registers it none the less. So ask yourself...which is more wrong here...preying on something that has the ability to at least move around or fight back like a cow or a sheep...or preying on innocent little carrots and potatoes that can only just sit there as the nasty farmer comes along and rips them from their earth mother! Eat meat...its less wrong...at least animals have a chance...those poor defenseless vegetables are just sitting ducks, or sitting cabbages in this case. Peace, |

Date: 11/30/2001 3:51:00 PM From Authorid: 36704 Now I can't even have a Christmas tree? yeah that's just great, I can't eat meat because animals have souls, I can't eat vegetables because plants have souls, I can't watch movies because actors and actresses are overpaid and movies along with video games contribute to the delinquency of society, I can't drive my car because I pollute the air, I can't wear clothes because they're made by exploited workers in third world countries, the same with any electronics I may want to purchase, I can't read books because they may try to brainwash my mind so I'll just sit naked on a rock freezing and hungry in the middle of nowhere so I don't offend anyone...base |
Date: 11/30/2001 3:52:00 PM From Authorid: 37354 No, I do not recycle plastic and neither do most other people. Successful tree farmers actually plant more trees every year than they cut down. I'd say it's a draw.. |
Date: 11/30/2001 5:08:00 PM From Authorid: 25756 Where I live there are too many Evergreen trees. anyways, if you wanted an alive christmas tree and not want it to be a "dying corpse" just decorate a tree in your front yard or something. Then put the presents somewhere else. |
Date: 11/30/2001 5:17:00 PM From Authorid: 37354 The fact is due to people buying real Christmas trees there are more trees, not less.
