Gantrill and his men stood their ground
As they waited for what had made that sound
Whatever it was, it came through the trees in a flash
Knocking many men to their feet as it went past
It came to rest just beneath the largest tree
Many of the men in shock at what they did see
Crouching behind the tree, a creature quite rare
The head of a man and the body of a bear
What could have frightened this formadable creature so
It began to speack, soon we all shall know
"From the darkness of the forest deep
Something I've never seen before did creep
I was foraging for an early evening meal
When IT frightened me just as I was about to kneel
There was movement I caught from the corner of my eye
It was very quick, I did not know what I had spied
It dashed behind a nearby tree
I could feel it just staring at me
I called for it to make itself known
It shouldn't be frightened make itself shown
From behind the tree something donning nothing but black
A hood upon its head and no feet in which to leave tracks
Under the hood were glowing red eyes frozen in stare
I have never before witnessed a more frightening pair
The creature began to draw himself near
For no apparent reason I filled with fear
It had razor sharp claws that I could see
And I knew then it wanted to kill me
I could sense it in the air, see it in its eyes
I was so frightened I let out a cry"
"Dear creature", Gantrill began
"Now we understand why it is you ran"
Those words no sooner left Gantrill's mouth
