Each man sat in silence remembering the tales of old Of many men who ventured in who were quite bold Stories spoken by those waiting by the forests edge For the brave souls who entered, their friend
Sitting by fires waiting, their eyes wide in fear late into the night Not even a simple breeze blowing, then horrible screams bringing fright Painful human cries and a deep throated animal growl In the distance they hear a lone wolf's howl
Gantrill plays those stories inside his own head Even through his bravery his eyes showing the dread Could this treasure he seeks be worth giving his life Or that of his men, many with children and a wife
Gantrill's thoughts suddenly turn back to the task as hand Just as the mist subsided and the raindrops began "Men, we will take our rest here this night Place the tents and build a fire to bring us light"
Just as the men broke to get their jobs done A hollow voice broke in saying, "You are the ONE" Each man stood frozen in place Horror and fear filling each face...
