I'm just curious if anyone here goes to a Psycologist. I've realized that I have some problems and I'm wondering if you go, does it help a lot? I'm hoping that it'll help me a lot... I have all my feelings and past bottled up inside me causing me to have bad bad anxiety... anyone relate with this?

Date: 10/30/2001 3:20:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 34758    i'm also wondering.. is your first visit pretty awkward or are they usually good about making you feel comfortable?
Date: 10/30/2001 3:23:00 PM  From Authorid: 38849    Yes, going has helped me. It isn't something though that is going to happen over night. And you also want to make sure you would be comfortable talking with that person about things.
Date: 10/30/2001 3:28:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 34758    dang.. i wish it could completly help me overnight, but i know it's going to take a while.. mmmh, hopefully i like this lady!
Date: 10/30/2001 3:34:00 PM  From Authorid: 34328    I just went to my first session today and I was sooooo pleased with the manner and insight that this man had into my problems. I have been suffering for too long, I suggest you do seek help. They are schooled and some are even gifted. Just as an artist or singer has a talent, so do some counselors. And dont feel ashamed or embarassed, millions of people have at on time or another sought therapy. God Bless and you will get better.
Date: 10/30/2001 3:35:00 PM  From Authorid: 38849    Well, she shouldn't make you feel "forced" to have to talk about stuff straight up. You talk about things when you think you're ready. At least that is how my counselor did things. She was pretty good. --
Date: 10/30/2001 3:57:00 PM  From Authorid: 34179    i see a psychiatrist. but i think thats different.
Date: 10/30/2001 4:01:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 34758    i wonder what the difference is between a psychiatrist and a pyschologist... what about a psychotherapist.. counsler.. are they all the same!?!? aaaaaaaah!! now i'm confused!!! LOL
Date: 10/30/2001 4:05:00 PM  From Authorid: 16376    I used to see one, yes it did help me. I actually want to be one when i grow up now lol
Date: 10/30/2001 4:09:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 34758    yeah that'd be fun!! just sit there all day and figure out everyone elses problems!! oh shoot.. wait... i can't even figure out my own! :P
Date: 10/30/2001 4:13:00 PM  From Authorid: 23731    I go and yes it does help me a lot, it has gotten me through so much. I am very glad I decided to get help. Tef

Date: 10/30/2001 6:16:00 PM  From Authorid: 35705    im with ^^ above me. I need to see if i can go for group theoraphy or something...it might help yes
Date: 10/30/2001 6:35:00 PM  From Authorid: 7952    I'm pretty sure the difference between a psychiatrist and a pyschologist is that Psychiatrists can perscribe medication, and psychologists can't...or vise versa not sure..LOL! i could be wrong
Date: 10/30/2001 9:41:00 PM  From Authorid: 15997    nope never been to see a psychologist but i am going to be one...maybe i can help i need the practice...hehehe...i'm sure seeing a psychologist will help you though so try it.
Date: 10/31/2001 8:34:00 AM  From Authorid: 38849    Psychiatrist is a medical doctor that can prescribe medications(I had this in conjunction with therapy). Psychologist/Therapist I think deals with how much education they had(Psychologist is a Ph. D. I think, and therapist is at least a Masters degree I think). --
