I go, I have for a long time, and yes, it helps a LOT. Talking to someone really helps, especially because you KNOW it's not going to leave the room. It's a great thing.. |

Yes, going has helped me. It isn't something though that is going to happen over night. And you also want to make sure you would be comfortable talking with that person about things. |

I just went to my first session today and I was sooooo pleased with the manner and insight that this man had into my problems. I have been suffering for too long, I suggest you do seek help. They are schooled and some are even gifted. Just as an artist or singer has a talent, so do some counselors. And dont feel ashamed or embarassed, millions of people have at on time or another sought therapy. God Bless and you will get better. |

Well, she shouldn't make you feel "forced" to have to talk about stuff straight up. You talk about things when you think you're ready. At least that is how my counselor did things. She was pretty good. -- |

I'm pretty sure the difference between a psychiatrist and a pyschologist is that Psychiatrists can perscribe medication, and psychologists can't...or vise versa not sure..LOL! i could be wrong |

Psychiatrist is a medical doctor that can prescribe medications(I had this in conjunction with therapy). Psychologist/Therapist I think deals with how much education they had(Psychologist is a Ph. D. I think, and therapist is at least a Masters degree I think). -- |
