Date: 10/23/2001 8:25:00 PM From Authorid: 33925 I agree...seems like its the in thing lately to put christians down..kind of sad really...@}----xoxo |
Date: 10/23/2001 8:27:00 PM From Authorid: 30747 Hmmmm I try never to get involved in a religious debate but I do make my christian beliefs known and I'm friends with pagans and atheists here. Maybe it's because I don't force it on people who don't want to hear it or come off as a self righteous religious fanatic. I dunno. I'm comfortable with what I believe and just as comfortable with what others believe..therefore I guess I just don't see the discrimination...not to say that others may not be experiancing that. I just don't see it. *hugs* |
Date: 10/23/2001 8:30:00 PM From Authorid: 16916 I tottally agree with Aunt Bee..I have my beleifs and I try to stay away from religion debates and try not to push my relgion on other people on this site. it is a very touchy subject |
Date: 10/23/2001 8:33:00 PM From Authorid: 25046 I've learned to avoid conflict at all costs, especially religion...Aunt Be pretty much sums it up for me too. |
Date: 10/23/2001 8:38:00 PM From Authorid: 20956 Hmmm well iam not sure to tell you the honest truth cause i stay clear of the relgious posts and debates around here ~~ too dangerous! lol .... |
Date: 10/23/2001 8:39:00 PM ( From Author ) From Authorid: 37354 I do not think Christ meant Christians to turn the other cheek when the Christian religion was attacked. Hugo |
Date: 10/23/2001 8:40:00 PM From Authorid: 38726 Hmm, Hugo...Although I may have my differences with some here at USM in the debate areas,I do not hate anyone in particular.Nor do I feel many Christians are hatemongers. But some USM'rs have used Christianity to promote hate towards others. And some use religon in every debate where religon is not even an issue....I am a Christian, at least that is how I feel about my religon, but I do not try to ram it down others throats either. |
Date: 10/23/2001 9:06:00 PM From Authorid: 23619 yeah but people have their own perspectives and opinions |
Date: 10/23/2001 9:13:00 PM From Authorid: 27678 Hey Hugo, It seems to me that we are probably the next entree in the meals on wheels program after the Muslim fundamentalists are dealt with, of course. Don't want to spread ourselves too thin, yet. Free Girl |
Date: 10/23/2001 9:16:00 PM From Authorid: 12341 No it is not just Christians getting slammed. Every religion gets slammed here and always has. Read some of the older posts, |

Date: 10/23/2001 9:29:00 PM From Authorid: 30229 Hugo... a VERY good point you make here... I am a Christian, I love being a Christian and to be honest about it... I have been attacked MORE by people saying they are doing Christ's works than the other people who say they dont even believe... I do not attack anyone for whatever they believe in, and I dont think I should be attacked either... But I do tire easily now from those who think they KNOW IT ALL... IMO |
Date: 10/23/2001 9:46:00 PM From Authorid: 29806 Well, alot of christians seem to think that it's okay to bash satanists and pagans, calling them evil devil-worshippers. So, I doubt that the heckling will never end, but you have to admit Hugo, it's fun. -ID- |
Date: 10/23/2001 9:50:00 PM ( From Author ) From Authorid: 37354 The exchange of death threats by the personal messages is always the funnest part. hugo |
Date: 10/23/2001 9:54:00 PM From Authorid: 38726 Death threats???That is so not right Hugo....sometimes people get way too out of hand......debating is meant to debate, not threaten....sorry to hear that .. |
Date: 10/23/2001 9:58:00 PM From Authorid: 12341 If death threats are being made, the Administrators of this site need to be notified. The persons responsible will be kicked off the site. |
Date: 10/23/2001 10:23:00 PM From Authorid: 17525 Interesting Hugo. You've received death threats? Wow. If someone has done it thru your profile, ADMIN's have full access to that text. Seems to be no reason they would allow it to continue. Shame that some are so wound up in their 'beliefs' that they would resort to something so childish. Although, I have to admit, I've had lots of people tell me i'm gonna burn in Hell if i don't accept someone as my personal savior. Spoze I'd have to call those after-death threats tho. LOL Peace |
Date: 10/23/2001 10:37:00 PM ( From Author ) From Authorid: 37354 Actually it was just the Satanist equivalent of going to hell. That they are going to send the Great Beast to get me. I am not overly concerned. Let us get back on topic. Hugo |
Date: 10/23/2001 10:48:00 PM From Authorid: 34078 Is it any wonder and a mystery? When's the last time a witch knocked on a door to recruit members? (With the exception of Halloween.) I've heard people here saying they wouldn't even talk to Satanist. (When they know almost nothing about their religion.) If a psychic went on Christian website would there be much tolerance? Don't get me wrong. I like you Hugo. |
Date: 10/23/2001 10:51:00 PM ( From Author ) From Authorid: 37354 If anybody knocks on my door wishing to help me I am happy to talk to them. Just because Pagans are too lazy to go door to door and attempt to spread the joy they have is not the fault of hard-working, joy spreading Christians. Hugo |
Date: 10/23/2001 10:53:00 PM ( From Author ) From Authorid: 37354 From the Satanists I have talked to on this site(I admit it is a small sample) I can see why people would not want to talk to them. Hugo |
Date: 10/23/2001 11:03:00 PM From Authorid: 34078 That was a cheap shot. |
Date: 10/23/2001 11:04:00 PM From Authorid: 34078 It's like this. Christians, both men and women, are mad they were fed to the lions. Witches, mostly women, are mad they were burned at the stake. IMO witches have more to complain about as it denotes sexism as well. |
Date: 10/23/2001 11:13:00 PM ( From Author ) From Authorid: 37354 Let me just say this Perky. How people interact with others, particularly when they belong to a small minority group that most people have no experience with, affects peoples perceptions of the group they belong to. Hugo |

Date: 10/23/2001 11:23:00 PM From Authorid: 45551 well i am new here and i know i dont hate anyone anywhere. i dont believe in god, however i love those types of debates(lol)most times its so easy to get believers so riled up i just cant help myself.i am usually never rude,i dont call people names i dont make threats, i am totally civil or atleast try to be. also i dont care what anyone thinks or believes just dont try to tell me i need to believe, however in any debate other than religous ones i may already have taken my side but i always take into consideration the facts that are presented and if need be adjust my stand on an issue.at times i will go against the grain if most people are agreeing or disagreeing just so both sides are being represented. heck if i got in a debate tommorrow and everyone didnt believe in god, even though i dont, id prob try to throw some things in that would defend the position of there being a god.its all about stimulating thought. Date: 10/24/2001 5:11:00 AM From Authorid: 10146 Only those who are discriminated against are those that do as Jesus Did! Which is, to speak out Against The "MANY" Religions of Old Rome! Does the Bible, Did Jesus of the Bible speak Against the Religious Leaders of Old Rome? If He did, (Which some will say he didn't) then I suppose He wasn't a True Christ. Is this What other Religions are trying to Say? Love in Jesus Name. |
Date: 10/24/2001 5:48:00 AM From Authorid: 18201 If I've been accused of discriminating against Christians, then I wish someone would tell me. WHile I do have a tendency to point out my issues with Christians, I have no problem inviting the folks who come knocking at my door in for coffee and biscuits...I just make it very clear that they aren't coming into a house without religious beliefs and I will frely allow them to state theirs, if they allow me to state mine. I agree that no one has the right to discriminate against Christians, but Christians do not have the right to discriminate against non-Christians, either. This isn't an anti-Chrisitna statement...it's common sense...and that's where my issues come in... |
Date: 10/24/2001 6:34:00 AM From Authorid: 11091 Christians are not the only ones discriminated against. Athesits, pagans, wiccans, satanists are also discriminated against. We also deal with the comments the rudeness, personal messages and emails. You are not the first to receive the threats and unfortunatley will not be the last. I just wish it would all stop and everyone would promote religious tolerance. |
Date: 10/24/2001 7:21:00 AM From Authorid: 34476 Personal threats? Emails?? I must be doing something wrong ..... I haven't seen any of those yet ..... And I believe most regulars here know where I stand on religious issues. |
Date: 10/24/2001 9:43:00 AM From Authorid: 11240 If someone brings God or Jesus into a debate as an issue, just what do they think is going to happen? That Christians aren't going to use God's Word in their comments? I get relatively few personal messages but when I answer privately using GOD's Word (i.e., THE TRUTH) as my reference, I always seem to have the last word. God Bless. |
Date: 10/24/2001 10:54:00 AM From Authorid: 20104 Im sick of hearing about oh the poor christians this and the poor christians that. Im an athiest and I dont cry every time someone discriminates about me so just get over it. |
Date: 10/24/2001 11:36:00 AM From Authorid: 11091 We (non-christians) do not bring God in debate. Why would we since we don't believe in God? |
Date: 10/24/2001 2:34:00 PM From Authorid: 27028 so? i don't think im christophobia,.. i think i just hate |
Date: 10/24/2001 3:43:00 PM From Authorid: 24924 I don't suffer from "christophobia". I do suffer from "Hypocriphobia", however. To translate: I can't stand HYPOCRITS. BIG difference. *wink* |
Date: 10/24/2001 9:35:00 PM From Authorid: 37900 Good post, Hugo. Fortunately, Christians survive and even thrive in a hostile environment. Any god looks good when circumstances are favorable; only One has credibility when circumstances are contrary. Historically, hostility seems to bring out the best in us. Alfrowi. |

Unfortunately its sad but true that yes sometimes Christians Discriminate against others... And it puts on a bad face for the whole of Christianity.. But also some religions are taught to hate Christians and those who have Christian beliefs. It isnt right that people are hating on the Christians... but it isnt right that others are being hated on either."But i say unto you, love your enimies, Bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray fr them which despitefully use you, and persecute you." - Matthew 5:44 All im trying to say is ya hate what the person is doing, but dont hate the person. Just look where hate has gotten our nation 4500 dead. 3 very significant buildings destroyed. Millions living in fear. All because of hate. Now if you will examine this... is it really worth hating someone over? Because you believe one thing and I believe another. No it isnt. And i know im not the perfect person and have made some.. well not so nice comments.. to people whom are on here. But i think that we should just learn to get along. Tolerate people and what they believe in... dont hate them because their faith isnt where yours is. I dont know when our world is going to realize this.. but we are not all cookie cutter images of others. I may wear something i like but you think its nasty... well i like it.. and im not hating you for your clothing purchases. So in short.. i think we all Christians and Non- Christians need to unite and try to reckignize our similarities wrather than our Differences. *~*Sunshine Nights*~* |
