Here's a moral question for you............(Hawk)

This is an imaginary situation, but I think you will find it beneficial to think through this exercise. The situation: You are in the Middle East, and there is a huge flood in progress. Many homes have been lost, water supplies compromised and structures destroyed. You're a freelance photographer for a news service, you're traveling alone, looking for particularly poignant scenes that you can shoot. You come across Osama Bin Laden who has been swept away by the floodwaters. He is barely hanging on to a tree limb and is about to go under. You have to make a choice. You can either put down your camera and save him, or take a Pulitzer Prize winning photograph of him as he loses his grip on the limb. So, here's the question...and think carefully before you answer it:

Which lens would you use?

Date: 10/18/2001 12:06:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 277    Sorry guys, I didn't know this was posted already. I like your response, Lady Luck.

Date: 10/18/2001 12:09:00 PM  From Authorid: 2030    I'd rescue him, kick his A-- turn him in for the $5,000,000 reward, and take a picture of myself kickin back at the beach. Who needs a pulitzer?
Date: 10/18/2001 12:10:00 PM  From Authorid: 25438    lol at BCAR
Date: 10/18/2001 12:16:00 PM  From Authorid: 36766    lol @ BCAR good answer
Date: 10/18/2001 12:18:00 PM  From Authorid: 15998    Rescue him, tie him up, bring him to America, give him a sex change and send him back... but I'd place a bug on his to be able to track him. Of course I'd make sure the governent knew baout this and was a part of it.
Date: 10/18/2001 12:31:00 PM  From Authorid: 15033    I'd take a picture of him 'gasping his last' as he went under...then I'd say. "oops, I'm not a murderous person"...I'd then pull him out, resuscitate him back to life, turn him in and collect the reward...Win the pulitzer prize with the picture... and everyone would be happy...'specially me. :-D
Date: 10/18/2001 12:32:00 PM  From Authorid: 37994    LMAO I would use the zoom and get a good close up
and then find his body and collect my reward?-

Date: 10/18/2001 12:33:00 PM  From Authorid: 27046    LMAO.....I haven't seen this before but I think I like it!!!....LOL
Date: 10/18/2001 12:37:00 PM  From Authorid: 2030    Thunderhead; always thinking things through. LOL!
Date: 10/18/2001 12:37:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 277    LOL@BCAR!
Date: 10/18/2001 12:41:00 PM  From Authorid: 2030    Of course I'd buy Hawk something nice for putting me onto this profitable turn of events.
Date: 10/18/2001 12:42:00 PM  From Authorid: 45095    I would push his head under the water, after I used the extra wide lens! LOTSALUV! "Dangsgirl!"
Date: 10/18/2001 12:46:00 PM  From Authorid: 25828    LMAO - i think i would save him to torture him. and take photos of THAT
Date: 10/18/2001 1:38:00 PM  From Authorid: 23828    One that I would have to get really up close to get a good shot so I could kick his hand out and make him go to hell. <Fire Spirit>
Date: 10/18/2001 1:48:00 PM  From Authorid: 34814    I would go snap good pic bye bye...
Date: 10/18/2001 1:59:00 PM  From Authorid: 16845    I use the best darn lens I've got! LOL the pulitzer is one of my goals/dreams....Forget the reward money on bin laden gimme that award!
Date: 10/18/2001 2:20:00 PM  From Authorid: 31145    Hands down no competition,....I'd save him WITHOUT giving it a second thought. How can you not? Its called human compassion...not helping would put you in the same catogory he is IN, you'd then be no better than any of the terrorists. Its not may place to punish anyone by letting them die. And if someone died and you couldve prevented it... than it is murder in a sense. And I dont want to answer to God for doing something horrible like that.
Date: 10/18/2001 8:05:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 277    Oh that's right! Becky is a future journalist! Take the money and the pulitzer! You can snap the picture just before he falls and then turn him in! LOL!
Date: 10/18/2001 8:06:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 277    So, Kari would let him live and then he'd probably kill her for wearing make up and not having her face covered.
Date: 10/19/2001 8:49:00 AM  From Authorid: 31145    So be it. Why be selfish and think "well, I'm not going to save a drowing person because I am afraid he will kill me afterwards." No, I dont care WHO it is, If a person is about to die, and I could prevent it, than I WILL prevent it. Its not my place to kill anyone. And yes, By not saving a person that you could've saved, you would have KILLED them. And the person's blood WOULD be on your hands. And personally I dont want that.
Date: 10/19/2001 9:04:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 277    Because......you know if "you" turned him in they might just have an execution after trial.
Date: 10/19/2001 9:04:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 277    Kari, So would you let him go after you saved him or turn him in?
Date: 10/19/2001 9:10:00 AM  From Authorid: 31145    hmmm....I would have to give it some deep consideration. Right now, to tell the truth, I dont know.
Date: 10/19/2001 11:19:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 277    Have you read my new quote about war, Kari?
Date: 10/19/2001 11:23:00 AM  From Authorid: 16442    I would put down the camera and get the 5 million (I think its 5) dollar award for his capture. : )
Date: 10/19/2001 3:12:00 PM  From Authorid: 31145    Actually, I would turn him in, but I wouldnt use the money for my self.....I'd donate it to a "worthy" cause.
Date: 1/9/2002 9:39:00 PM  From Authorid: 5892    I believe the #2 super magnifier lense.
