HUMAN EXISTANCE...DEBATE

i for one believe that human existance IS in fact, meaningless. think of it, we serve no purpose on this earth except to ruin it.

ok, example, if every spider on this earth were to die, the insect population would greately go up. there would be too many insects, and everything on this planet would die, there is a balance.

but if humans were all to die all at once, and all the nuclear plants and coal plants and other industries shut down too, it would probably HELP the earth. nothing negative would come of it, i'm not just talking about something like your dog would die, i'm saying that there would be no more pollution, overhunting animals etc..

all we do is hurt the earth...

that is what i think

what do you think??

Date: 10/14/2001 8:23:00 PM  From Authorid: 30229    good points here...

Date: 10/14/2001 8:26:00 PM  From Authorid: 38426    human beings are but a plague, rising, spreading, evolving, wiping out all life in their wake... and we few who realize this await a cure
Date: 10/14/2001 8:27:00 PM  From Authorid: 30477    humans aren't the only animal that overhunt, tigers, lions, and other big cats do it. plus birds of prey.
Date: 10/14/2001 8:27:00 PM  From Authorid: 15033    Hehe! I believe you are right!...We wouldn't be missed by the earth...or any of it's creatures. Love,
Date: 10/14/2001 8:33:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 45264    yes, but THEY don't completely destroy a speces, i mean look at us, we are fighting eachother for NO REASON WHATSOEVER. tell me one animal that has huge wars and kills just because they want to... i'm waiting
Date: 10/14/2001 8:34:00 PM  From Authorid: 40199    we are destroying the planet so another generation can come along and make it better. i dunno!!! good questioning though
Date: 10/14/2001 8:46:00 PM  From Authorid: 3125    You know..Looking at things from your point of view, this world would grow back it's forests.. It's air and it's water supplies would be clean.. Animals could live in peace and without being used for food, clothing, science experiment,etc.. There would be no wars or no crimes..Wow..I think this earth would be the garden of paradise which man constantly longs for..
Date: 10/14/2001 9:03:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 45264    man invented war and crime
Date: 10/14/2001 9:06:00 PM  From Authorid: 36454    I can see your point though I do not agree with it...God made man to have dominion over all things on earth, and God gave man free will, and most of mankind has chosen convenience over what is best for all, including themselves...Take the Amish for instance...they choose to live according to the "old ways" how much damage are they doing to the world? Not nearly as much as us modern men...I could be wrong in all this, after all I am not an expert, these are but my thoughts on the subect, and I do not feel that my life is in vain, Charlie_Girl
Date: 10/14/2001 9:09:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 45264    man is hurting the earth, think about it
Date: 10/14/2001 9:21:00 PM  From Authorid: 15033    Charlie_Girls right, I have some Amish friends and I can't see where they hurt anything...nothin...not at all...no one...Good point Charlie_Girl. The Native's all over the world don't either. But still earth would not miss any of us. Think about it...it would flourish without a one of us here...
Date: 10/14/2001 9:54:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 45264    How many amish and natives are there compared to 'everyone else'?

i'd say about 1-2% of the world's population are them
Date: 10/14/2001 10:14:00 PM  From Authorid: 37354    We are the only ones who can save the Earth from the Doomsday comet. Yeaa, us. Hugo
Date: 10/15/2001 3:26:00 AM  From Authorid: 14226    you have point really intesting one actually .cows might overpopulate and pigs and sheep. but id like to see the world with out us in it id bet it would look so amazing so clean ahh. love,
Date: 10/15/2001 7:23:00 AM  From Authorid: 20104    I agree that we hurt the earth and I think there is a balance to things. The way I see the future happening is we wont be able to completely destroy the earth. I think of the earth as a living thing. It knows its being hurt. Its just a matter of time before it does something to stop it. Like release a virus to kill off most of the humans. Something along those lines.
Date: 10/15/2001 8:58:00 AM  From Authorid: 37354    What good is a flourishing Earth without anyone to apprecciate it? Hugo
Date: 10/15/2001 9:58:00 AM  From Authorid: 36967    God created humans to serve him, that is our purpose in life, but man has a choice, and God gave us a choice, if God didn't then it would not be love, since God is love, God gave us a choice.

Date: 10/15/2001 10:21:00 AM  From Authorid: 33817    Jeez, is this a love fest or what? Wrong Magnum Force, WRONG. We hurt as much as we help, we put back what we take away, your fantastic vision of some type of utopia doesn't exist and never would. In your little hypothetical scenario, the "spiders all dissapearing" thing, your conclusion is flawed. The world wouldn't end. The insects would temporarily spike in population, overeat and starve off the next few generations, whence the balance will return. The earth wouldn't care. This planet couldn't care less about us being on it, when this rock was born, it's "pristine" state that you all obviously want to return to was that of a magma-laden, charred, noxious-gaseous ball of NOTHING. Which many forms of life probably adore. The fact that you evolved to fit this environment doesn't substantiate your thoughts that we are changing it for better or for worse. Im not going into the whole spiel here, unless you want me to, but there's some dissent in this little commie-pinko hippyfest!!
Date: 10/15/2001 3:42:00 PM  From Authorid: 10146    Don't worrie about it! You wont be here much longer, Before It will be A perfect place for 1000 years. In Jesus name.
Date: 10/15/2001 7:12:00 PM  From Authorid: 37872    Yes, there are alot of negative aspects to the human culture. However, I do believe and I stand by it, that humans are the epitome of Life and Spirit in this universe.
Date: 10/16/2001 10:17:00 PM  From Authorid: 37900    When you say "human existence is meaningless," do you include yourself? Alfrowi
Date: 10/17/2001 12:29:00 AM  From Authorid: 14226    power dave Im sorry but we dont put back what weve taken away, we cant put back the oil weve used its now gone and made holes in the ozone wich we cannot repair if we dont stop using fossil fuel we dont put back the sand dunes we dont put back the skins of animals weve already made 1000's of animals extinct cause we thought they were a menice or there skins would look good as a coat or just for the fun of hunting. thanks love,
Date: 10/17/2001 12:31:00 AM  From Authorid: 14226    sorry about haveing your name wrong there
Date: 10/20/2001 8:41:00 AM  From Authorid: 27028    you know what... when i lifted a rock up there was 100 spiders and a 1000 or so ants fhgintg eachother in a war and it lasdted for 60 minutes. thats a war, and everyone died...
