Date: 10/2/2001 1:52:00 PM  From Authorid: 8184    Poor sissy! I'm so sorry about this bad news! Lots of people are diagnosed with this every year, and my doctor thinks I might be another patient with it. Don't worry you're NOT alone!
Date: 10/2/2001 1:53:00 PM  From Authorid: 38849    Probably best to see a doctor... could mean surgery of some sort to attempt to correct that... THOUGH I don't know... I am no doctor, well maybe a doctor of computers eventually, but anyway. If it hurts that much, I'd definately get the opinion of a doctor about options available.
Date: 10/2/2001 1:56:00 PM  From Authorid: 28848    I have scoliosis of the spine. (sp?) which is a curve in the spine. It is also painful and hurts when it rains. My grandmother suffers from arthritis that covers her body. And my mother also has it in her hands. Its hereditary so I'm sure that I will end up with it too. I have noticed that when I drive for an hour,It is hard for me to walk and that my knees are in alot of pain. Maybe you should make yourself an appointment to get checked for arthritis. I hope that everything turns out okay for you.
Date: 10/2/2001 1:57:00 PM  From Authorid: 33088    "Lordhosis" at the sunken in bottom part, "Kaiphosis" (not sure of spelling of each ofthese) at the top. There are excercises you can do, AND SHOULD start now, to strengthen the muscles around your spine. They will have to do the extra work your bones cannot do, especially as you get older. Arthritis of the spine cannot be diagnosed without bloodwork to detect inflamamtion. (A sedimentation rate test). And X-rays can detect if any cartilege damage or bone abnormalities have started. Now all this sounds alarming? It is not! Those muscles will do the work and prevent serious damage, but you have to commit to looking after that. Swimming is good, very good. If you're in a lot of pain, you can even start with lifting 2 lb weights straight up to the ceiling, while laying on your back! Oh, and stand chest out, and bum tucked in! Love,
Date: 10/2/2001 1:57:00 PM  From Authorid: 19092    I agree with ^^^ you should see a doctor right away. This sounds serious.
Date: 10/2/2001 1:58:00 PM  From Authorid: 33088    Just forthe record, thereare 106 different kinds of arthritis, some are simple, some are serious. Get an accurate diagnosis before you worry too much. Love,
Date: 10/2/2001 1:59:00 PM  From Authorid: 35720    Your spine hurts only when it rains?? Sorry, just a question.
Date: 10/2/2001 2:04:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 28713    Sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't depends on the weather.
Date: 10/2/2001 2:09:00 PM  From Authorid: 16845    aw, meagan, I agree with all the others in you should seek medical attention on this one. they've got nice fun drugs they can put you on if that's what it'll take, my best friend has had arthritis *Juvi* Since she was about 8....and she only has a few bad days here and there as long as she stays on her pills.
Date: 10/2/2001 2:12:00 PM  From Authorid: 33925    Honey you need to get your butt to the doctor...especially with carrying that baby and the extra strain that is being put on your back from that...@}----xoxo
Date: 10/2/2001 2:13:00 PM  From Authorid: 21435    Hello Meagan. My niece had something like what you've just described. I must agree with Amaranth. Swimming is great. When my niece came to live with us, she had a badly curved spin. First thing that we did was enroll her in a swimming program at a local school. She was 12 years old at the time. She stayed on the team for 1.5 years. This completely corrected the problem. She is 21 now and still doing well. This swimming program was kinda tough on everyone. She had practice 3 days/week and meets on Saturday. Kept us going, but it was worth it. Good Luck to You. Write on...
Date: 10/2/2001 2:19:00 PM  From Authorid: 15400    I know how you feel. I'm only 15 years old and I have arthritis in my ankles. Maybe you should go see a doctor on your back. You might have scoliosis! I hope you get better soon though. *Hugz* -Take Care. Much Love:
Date: 10/2/2001 2:20:00 PM  From Authorid: 33088    Whoa! You're pregnant? Then you MUST swim. The water will lift that baby/tummy, andtakethe weight off your spine! I promise! I'm 5 ft 2, 115 lbs, and I had a 10 lb baby! Swimming, even just hanging around in the pool, (hot tubs etc.) was the ONLY thing that alleviated back pain for me! Love,
Date: 10/2/2001 2:22:00 PM  From Authorid: 28848    Oh I didn't realize that you were pregnant. That is probably the main reason your back hurts. When I was prego I had back pain all the time.
Date: 10/2/2001 2:22:00 PM  From Authorid: 9509    Oh geez go see a doctor..

Date: 10/2/2001 2:29:00 PM  From Authorid: 38433    i know some people don't believe in chiropractors but really you should ask one if there is something he could do coz doctors can't always do everything, sorry you're in such pain xoxo
Date: 10/2/2001 2:36:00 PM  From Authorid: 28848    Theres also an elastic belt that you can wear during pregnancy to aleviate back pain. I had back problems before pregnancy too but being pregnant made the pain worse.
