Through The Eyes Of A Child -- Mr DJ

  Author:  36487  Category:(Poetry) Created:(9/23/2001 7:09:00 PM)

Through the eyes of a child
The world seems right
A monster under the bed
Is the only fright

Days are spent
Running through the yard
Playing in the sun
And laughing real hard

Parents are a bother
They take away the fun
"Please let me go out mom
I want to play and run"

Through the eyes of a child
A loving thought means less
It doesn't hold the meaning
As an adult reminiscing about the best

I look back on these days
Wonder why I didn't see it
Life was perfect
Even though at the time it didn't seem fit

I want to go back
To the days of the past
When mom would make alphabet soup
And our afternoons always seemed to last

I wish I didn't take for granted
The life I had
Not knowing how quick it would change
Through the eyes of a child, I was glad
