I think about all times we had
Best friends forever we always said
That was the promise that we made
We thought that nothing would ever change

we went though life thinking
that we would always be together
to talk to, confide in, to be there for eachother
though thick and thin

Just where the road would lead?
we did not know
that path that you took
you shouldnt have I always knew I think you did too.

You didnt see what was happening
you knew that you shouldnt have done what you did
but you didnt think anything bad would ever happen
you just lived by the day not knowing

til you saw what could happen
you seen it with your own to eyes
you didnt know what to do
just glad to be alive

then that day you saw the light
you made a change for the better
I thought this was to be a fresh start
of a better life for you

You asked me come see you one day
I told you sorry I was busy that day
you said ok just be at my party next friday night
I ship off right that monday

Im sorry today
that I didnt take the time to see you
I dont know how you ended up there
I dont know why

It should not have happend
I have so many unanswered questions
it was hard to put you to rest
never knowing the what really happend

I wished i would have came to see you
tell you all that I needed to
you were such a close friend
I wish I would have told you

I know that you have heard me today
you have been gone for 3 months now
I cried my first tear for you today
I know that you can hear me say it now

I love you dear friend
I wish that you were not taken so soon
I know that we will be together again
but till that day just know this...

We all miss you and we all love you.
Here is my epitaph to you.

Mary Ellen 1980-2001

let this poem serve as a lession to all... dont do heavy drugs and most certainly dont do any mixing and experamenting... its not worth all the pain that you put the ppl that are dearest to you though!

Date: 9/10/2001 8:53:00 PM  From Authorid: 21435    Hello Virtual Princess. "Tears for a friend." As I was readng your poem, something must've gotten into my eyes. They got all misty and wet. You really touch a nerve with this post. Many of us have lost close friends and family to drugs, war and just plain "bad judgement." You've put a very powerful message out for all here. "Them that have eyes, let them see." Thanks for the fine post. Write on...
