Here's a listing of a couple quotes and questions that i found while surfing the PETA sites. Being a vegetarian is a personal choice so i am not imposing anything at all and if i hurt somebody with those quotes it was not meant that way. It's been more than a year since i am now officialy a vegetarian and i can only say that i feel better and enjoy more animals in their natural habitat rather than on a grill. Life is a question of choice and i made mine. If you have any questions on the subject or interested in learning more i suggest that you go see the various Peta sites.

Please enjoy as much as i do.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

"I didnt kill the animal." No, but you hired the killer. Whenever you purchase meat, that means that the killing was done for you and you paid for it.

"Economic Vote". I show support of the meat industry and the way they operate when I purchase and use their products.

Food from animals contain their waste, including adrenaline, uric and lactic acid, etc., Before adding ketchup, the biggest contributors to the "flavor profile" of a hamburger are the leftover blood and urine.

Our hands, teeth, feet, intestinal tract...even our body chemistry is that of an herbivore.

Pathogenic Microorganisms. There are a host of bacteria and viruses, some quite dangerous, that are common to animals. When I eat meat, I eat the organisms in the meat. Micro-organisms are present in plant foods too, but their number and danger to human health is by no means comparable to that of those in meat.

We cant stop all suffering, but that doesnt mean we shouldnt stop any. In todays world of virtually unlimited choices, there are usually "kinder, gentler" ways for most of us to feed, clothe, entertain, and educate ourselves than by killing animals.

If animal exploitation were wrong, it would be illegal." Legality is no guarantee of morality.

"Animals are not as intelligent or advanced as humans." If possessing superior intelligence does not entitle one human to abuse another human for his or her purposes, why should it entitle humans to abuse nonhumans?

"Conditions on factory farms or fur farms are no worse than in the wild, where animals die of starvation, disease, or predation. At least the animals on factory farms are fed and protected." This argument was used to claim that black people were better off as slaves on plantations than as free men and women. The same could also be said of people in prison, yet prison is considered one of society's harshest punishments.

Animals on factory farms suffer so much that it is inconceivable that they could be worse off in the wild. The wild isnt "wild" to the animals who live there; its their home. There they have their freedom and can engage in their natural activities. The fact that they might suffer in the wild is no reason to ensure that they suffer in captivity.

For a taste of flesh, whether its chicken, ribs, or shark steak, the biggest predator of them all; humankind;has a meat addiction that kills more than 50 million sharks and billions of other sea animals annually, in contrast to the 10 people killed worldwide by sharks last year. But unlike humans, sharks are natural carnivores. They cant plant vegetables, bake bread, or cruise the supermarkets.

Life on the factory farms is so miserable, it is hard to see how we are doing animals a favor by bringing them into existence, confining and stressing them, abusing them, and then slaughtering them.

we have not evolved to eat meat. Carnivorous animals have curved fangs, claws, and a short digestive tract. Human beings have evolved without claws or fangs. We have flat molars and a long digestive tract better suited to a diet of vegetables, fruits, and grains. Eating meat is hazardous to our health; it contributes to heart disease, cancer, and a host of other health problems.
