The greatful dead saved my friend's life..

OK, this is how the Grateful dead saved my friend's life...My friend, Ryan (You might remember him from other posts, sucj as "What my friend has done for cigarretes") was driving home from the states with his mother (they had been driving since 5:30 that morning, and were both dozing off.) When they got in this almost accident. You see, he doesn't have a license so his mom had to drive the whole bunch of hours drive, and so as you could imagine, she was REALLY tired. So tired in fact, that she fell asleep at the wheel. (She was also listening to the droning on of "self-help" tapes, which was putting Ryan to sleep at first until he decided to listen to the Grateful Dead CD.) Ryan's mother (who was in the left lane) drove over the 2 lanes beside her at 130 miles/h, and was heading straght for a pole beside a REALLY steep ditch. All of a sudden Ryan says, "HEy, what are you doing?" and she woke up and stompped on the breaks, sending them sliding out of control, and sending the car into a 180 degree turn. Thankfully no one was injured, but if Ryan hadn't of listened to his music, he would have fell asleep, and they'd probably be dead right now.

How it changed my life:

I don't really believe in an after life now, seening as RYan said his life didn't flah b4 his eyes, and all that popped into his head was "Duhhh".

Date: 8/7/2001 2:07:00 AM  From Authorid: 19901    I think it's not all the time during a near death experience that your life flashes before your eyes. I do believe in an afterlife, (at least I'm hoping for one) however. As far as the Grateful Dead saving your friend's life: The Grateful Dead saved my sanity. It was 1992 at Deer Creek, Indiana. Ahhhhh the memories. StormBringer
