In that situation I would definately give it back...because not only would I feel like I was stealing, but that person's register would be off and they would get in trouble. However I have been in a situation where I got to my car and realized I wasn't charged for something.....and I didn't ever go back and pay for it I'm naughty. I do feel bad about it still.....but not bad enough to go pay for it I guess. ~CaseyGirlie |

In all honesty I'd give the money back. It would be wrong to keep it. |

I would give the money back because I would hope that if I were the cashier and made that mistake, someone would do me the same way. DessieDew |

If it's a mom-and-pop store, of course I'd give the money back. But, if it were a huge corperate chain of supermarkets, I'd pretend not to notice. |

This has happened to me before and not to sound self righteous or anything but I gave it back without even thinking. I've been a cashier before and I know that you can get fired for being short in your register, so there's no thinking about it...$$$ goes where it belongs. |

I would give the money back of course. This actually happened to me and my mom about three weeks ago when we went out for lunch, the cashier gave us back $20. extra and of course we told her and gave it back to her right away..........Racquie |

I'd most definitely give it back. First of all because it's the right thing to do. Secondly, I've been a cashier, worked in a cash office, and now I'm a teller at a bank. I know what it's like to be short. One time (this made me almost die, thank GOD for this customer), I accidentally gave a customer an extra $2000.00! One of the other tellers had give me a strap of $50 bills ($2000), and I also had to give the guy a strap of $50 bills so I thought that was it. I had gotten so caught up in my work, that I didn't realzie I had already give it to him. Yes, he returned it to me. Ohhh how I loved him, lol. Now that is a good samaritan! Love, |
