Natural Beauty...

Why do females wear makeup???...what??..for the look, style, or cover-up...the word make-up to me means.."FAKE"..the reason is that is doesn't show your true self..it makes a person very different mentally..because they think the make-up makes them beautiful and more intriguing...well it doesn't..why not show your natural beauty and stop hiding it from the world...i myself don't wear make-up...i don't need it...because my skin is pure enough to cleanse it self and give my complexion its tone of natural-ability (dark-skinned)..rubbing foundation over pimples only makes them worse..and you think it's good, but it's not...you're rubbing more dirt and other oils back into your skin and it makes your skin lose the ability to purify because the pores are dirty....ohh and the use of mascara....whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy..the eyelashes are fine the way they look..what more can you do to make them look fake!!!...and eyeliner...no-no..it makes your eyes look discoloured...like you got a bruise under there or something....lipstick..well a light touch will do instead of heavy tropical colors...or no lipstick..lips have their own way of petrifying beauty...blush..clogs pores as well...from my point of view..make-up only makes matters worse when used upon the face that once had natural beauty...and there's no way to get it back...but to keep covering up the flaws and acne..etc..overall..too much make-up takes away natural oils produced by the glands/pores in our face....

*TO ANYONE WHO KNOWS THE MEANING OF "NATURAL BEAUTY" PLEASE RESPOND*

Date: 8/1/2001 7:36:00 PM  From Authorid: 31349    i wear make-up but i CAN and DO go days without it too..i just like to wear it..i don't think it makes me better of a person or anything i just like to look "dressed up" somedays..that's just me..i dont' think make-up makes someone a bad person it's just for fun
Date: 8/1/2001 7:37:00 PM  From Authorid: 20956    yep, iam with you Lady Marmalade. Make up makes people feel better about themselves and if its applied in the right way then it complements natural beauty
Date: 8/1/2001 7:37:00 PM  From Authorid: 31368    Well I am a Mary Kay Beauty Consultant. For the most part what you say is true. I try to teach using makeup only to enhance what you already have. A good makeup job is one that you can't see. You should use makeup in a way that doesn't go against what you already naturally have. Like blue eyeshadow or blue eyeliner for example. What you are wrong about is that they all clog your pores. I spent years putting on foundation which would make me breakout, then it was a cycle. I had to wear it to cover up the acne. The reason this happened was because I was just going down to the five and dime and buying the cheapest foundation I could find. You have to find a foundation that is made specifically for your skin type. Since I switched to Mary Kay I haven't had a problem. That is why I became a consultant. I wanted to let others know what I had discovered. The other thing you said was that makeup clogs your pores and causes acne. Actually the right foundation will stop you from getting acne. If I go a week without using my foundation I break out awful. What foundation does is protects your skin from impurities in the air. Perspiration alone is more likely to irritate your skin and cause acne than foundation. It's sounds to me like you are one of the lucky few that can get away with out make up. If you feel good without it and your skin is healthy keep doing what you are doing. Some of aren't so lucky though. I have never had more beautiful, glowing, healthy skin than I do now. I wouldn't promote it if I didn't believe in it. Another point, when you get older you may have different skin tone so keep what I said in mind. ***Shelly***
Date: 8/1/2001 7:38:00 PM  From Authorid: 19625    I use eye make-up, eyeliner, mascara (occasionally) and eyeshadow, because my eyes seem to sink in and I like them more definded. And I'm in a LOT of plays and such, where I have to wear make-up so my face shows up in the stage lights... Lip-stick I wear for fun. I don't wear blush... I don't need it. But for some people, make-up doesn't look fake, if you're good at applying it. Much Love,
Date: 8/1/2001 7:38:00 PM  From Authorid: 31349    i'm fine with how i look
Date: 8/1/2001 7:41:00 PM  From Authorid: 31357    yeah...i'm fine with how i look too--it's not that--it's just that it's a thing i like to do--i'm going to become a cosmetologist--and it's waht i like to do..it shouldn't make someone a bad person just b/c they do wear it--many ppl do it
Date: 8/1/2001 7:43:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 34049    thank u shelly....but why keep using it if it irritates the skin???....just like u said a cycle..u started something that can't be finished unless done professionally....now those are the people to go to..like yourself...you know where i'm coming from and others who don't know take offense...
Date: 8/1/2001 7:46:00 PM  From Authorid: 31349    i dont' take offense..i just feel that you are kinda saying it's bad and i'm just saying my view point
Date: 8/1/2001 7:56:00 PM  From Authorid: 31357    exactly
Date: 8/1/2001 8:01:00 PM  From Authorid: 16069    I wear it sometimes because I like the way it looks on me. I dont care what other people think of the way I look. I wear it for myself. Most guys like girls that are naturaul, so I hear anyways. If what your saying about wearing make up is being phony, what about clothes? They cover you up. They arent natural either. Oh well. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I like it. Especially on guys. hehe
Date: 8/1/2001 8:08:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 34049    it's bad for the skin period...i'm sayin when we reach puberty our skin begin it cycle...i'm not sayin that make-up is bad for people..it's bad for the skin...god gave us natural beauty...and we mess it up and try and cover up the damage..that's just like the scalp..before it was just style and go..but now it's chemicals..to repair the damaged spots we destroyed using hair chemicals that was not needed in the first place..lol...my goodness..u guys are taking this seriously like i'm the one who's bad...just hate to see a once beautiful face put under all that pressure
Date: 8/1/2001 8:10:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 34049    love one another... if it wasn't for adam and eve then we wouldn't have to wear clothes to cover ourself...but they screwed it up for the rest of us....lol
Date: 8/1/2001 8:18:00 PM  From Authorid: 31048    I wear eye make-up because, unfortunately, I don't have natural beauty. I don't mind if I don't look totally natural, it makes me feel more confident so I wear it every day.
Date: 8/1/2001 8:33:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 34049    to all: let people see the real you and then let them see the covered-up you and see which "you" they like best...people who are themselves get more love and attention from others because they're not hiding anything...thats what i'm talking about...the other comments were just suggestions not to harm the skin...but i was talking about feelings and what not..yeah u may feel good or like to dress up..but do u really like "yourself" the way god made you..????or you're just tryin to cover up his mistake..."you"..i feel sorry for you guys..cause you're afraid of you're own features and what others might say..behind your back...so you wear make-up to make "you" feel better, but blind others mentally...i should have explained deeper..i'm sorry...
Date: 8/1/2001 8:54:00 PM  From Authorid: 37812    If I was blessed with beautiful, flawless, dark skin-I would go au naturel too!!!Unfortunately, I have pale, reddish skin, pale lashes, and from lack of sleep due to children-I have these lovely bags beneath my eyes.*sigh*.However, I only wear make-up that compliments my natural beauty, I wear concealer for the flaws, mascara for the limp lashes, and lip gloss.I dont wear make-up to decieve anybody, just to keep them from pointing and laughing;lol,j/k,(kinda).I dont need make-up to feel good about myself, but it sure helps if Im having an ugly-face day.Whatever floats ones boat rostbyte
Date: 8/1/2001 8:57:00 PM  From Authorid: 3538    I usually wear makeup, because I work with the public and I try to dress nice and look decent that I will not scare the customers away,or have sales go down, because I look like I just woke up.I think makeup can enhance certain features of your face.I like makeup and I like the fact that it is not permanent, you can always wash it off and experiment with it.
Date: 8/1/2001 9:17:00 PM  From Authorid: 38119    You expect me to go without my foundation? I have blotchy skin. I also get breakouts, which are hormonal and are not caused by clogged pores. If it wasn't for the foundation I use to even out my skin tone, I wouldn't feel comfortable going out. Wearing makeup doesn't make a female shallow, it gives her confidence.
Date: 8/1/2001 9:18:00 PM  From Authorid: 38119    You sound really self-righteous.
Date: 8/1/2001 9:31:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 34049    so u guys are saying that your natural beauty scares people away....????..maybe some can't handle their self-image..(self-esteem goes way down)..go to a PROFESSIONAL make-up artist and ask them thier point of natural beauty and where it comes from..i see that u all mean u enhance it..that i believe..but why if you're already beautiful??????like celebrities..we never see the real person behind that make-up...we might not recognize them...
Date: 8/1/2001 9:35:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 34049    everyone has a natural beauty...it comes from within...and it makes you..you..and not someone else...even if your're not the most beautiful people in the world..your're still beautiful inside and out..just don't be afraid to show it...like they say beauty is only skin deep...i say if you let it be....
Date: 8/1/2001 10:00:00 PM  From Authorid: 38119    What does being beautiful on the inside have to do with showing people what your skin looks like without makeup? Wearing make-up doesn't change who a person is.
Date: 8/1/2001 10:05:00 PM  From Authorid: 7089    i use (preferably) black eyeliner 'cause i think i have small, almond-shaped eyes-- almost slantedish imo --w/o it. i'm told the rest of my face is fine the way it is, & i say it that way not 'cause i have no esteem, but 'cause i hate to sound conceited. (& ppl do tell me to leave it as it is.) i've never been one for the delicate-mortar called foundation either, & not to get off the subject but what's your stance on hair dyes? they're artificial too. just curious. ttyl, -tugger
Date: 8/1/2001 10:45:00 PM  From Authorid: 31368    I'm sorry, but you keep saying that it is bad for the skin. It is not bad for your skin if you are using the right kind for your skin type. If used right it can help to make your skin healthier. I'm 27 and I know many woman my age who have never used makeup and their skin is covered with acne. It's all a matter of taking care of your skin. Yes we have natural beauty and we don't need to be loved for what we look like with makeup on. My husband loves the me inside and I rarely do myself up when I am sitting home with him. He doesn't care. But let's face it. Whether you want to say inside beauty is more important (which I believe) some of us just aren't natural beauties. Some of us have very light skin which is prone to acne, sunburn, blotchiness, freckles. Are you saying that we should just let our flaws hang out there for the world to see if we can disguise them? And a good foundation has sunblock in it, so there is another reason it is good for your skin. If you go out in a nice little outfit that enhances your figure, don't you feel good. Don't you feel better in something like this than if you went out in a sweatsuit? If you say no, I won't believe you. It's human nature to feel better when we look better. If it gives someone a little confidence what is wrong with it. When you are 40 years old and you have black circles under your eyes and wrinkles all over your face and you don't have the perfect 20 year old skin you have now, you might see things different. I had perfect skin when I was 20 too and I didn't wear foundation. Foundation I use to protect my skin and to cover my flaws. Eyeshadow, blush, eyeliner, and mascara I use to enhance the beauty I was born with. If you went for a week without washing your skin would your skin be as flawless as it is? No, but why do you wash it? To take care of your skin. Take a look at some old pictures of women. Fifty years ago a 40 year old woman looked like some 60 year old women do today. The reason women's skin stays younger looking now is because of all of these things. We are taking care of our skin now, because we can. They didn't have the technology back then. So how can it be bad for your skin if today's woman is looking younger?***Shelly***
Date: 8/2/2001 1:50:00 AM  From Authorid: 8374    i don't believe in my natural beauty...i love wearing make up...my eyelashes ok so i leave that alone..but i have to wear lipstick to hide this huge lump on my lip from my cleft lip surgery...i'm sorry if i'm trying not to make myself look like a deformed monster...
