I lost my Mom of Melonoma skin cancer last Sept,23rd. Her best friend,My own best friends Mom, Was just diagnosed with Pagets disese of the breast. This woman is like a second mom to me, as her Mom was to mine. Her own Mom passed away 2 weeks before mine. She had died of a brain tumor suddenly. She had lost her own Mom and best friend in two weeks. She saw it as My mom so scared of dieing and her Mom chooseing to go first, and pave the way for her and get heaven ready for her. This is what kind of a woman she is. Well she has had this disese and for years its been misdianosed. If there is anyone out there who has heard of this or is good at surfing the net for information on this disese, and could give me any sites I would be indebted to you. We all would. She will have to have her breast removed soon and undergo cemo.I promised her as I did for my mom, to use all resourses and get all the information I can collect on Pagets,if anyone out there can help I would apreciate it. And a prayer would also help...Diana

Date: 6/19/2001 4:30:00 PM  From Authorid: 9713    I am so sorry Diana for your losses. I do not know anything about Pagets, but I'm sure if you just typed it in a search engine you will find a lot of info on this terrible disease. i have heard about it, But Like I said, know nothing about it. I will keep your friend as well as you in my prayers. Please keep us updated on how she is doing!
Date: 6/19/2001 5:30:00 PM  From Authorid: 11616    i will say a pray...pagents disease can attack the bone and breast normally when it is associated with the breast there is an underlying malignacy, it is usually only with one breast and there is scaling and reddness of the skin. so many people in the past have been misdiagnosed due to less testing abilities... now we have bone scans and mammograghy and many other modalities. i hope and pray for the best. if there is any thing else i can help you with let me know there are a few things i know about but if i dont i will find out for you. ::HUGS::
Date: 6/19/2001 6:27:00 PM  From Authorid: 8941    you could try Webmd for starters, maybe the American Cancer Society also. Also, you could go to dogpile.com and type in the disease and you may be able to find more sites on it, and/or some support groups of people with the disease who can give you info and some good sites or literary sources. I recommended dogpile because a lot of the time when I want to look up something about health, I can usually find a university or med. school that has a lot of info on it. God Bless.
