In my opinion, these are not anything alike.Christians choose to follow Heavenly Father, while slaves must obey their master or suffer the consequences. Heavenly Father doesn't beat us or lie to us, He keeps His word and gives His followers freedom of choice. Slaves have no choice. There is a natural order to all things and rules to be followed. Even the music you listen too has a specific rhythm and order to it. This is my opinion tho. |

I follow God out of 'choice'. He did create us, and he gives US freedom of choice. If we choose the wrong way then He will act accordingly. From what I have read in the Bible, and I have read a lot, it isnt difficult to follow his word... and he doesnt MAKE us, like masters did slaves... he just 'rewards' us .... Nice post...thanks for sharing |

i'm not a christian but I believe there's only one being that created EVERYTHING!! To me, it is god(ALLAH). We(muslims) must submit to him cos' he is the creator, powerful and the mightiest. If we don't love him, he will still, no matter what loves us. Life on earth is temporary, death is for ETERNITY!!! |

Romans 6:17-18 "But thanks be to God that though you were slaves of sin, you became obedient from the heart to that form of teaching to which you were committed, and having been freed from sin, you becamse SLAVES of RIGHTEOUSNESS." The emphasis are mine. It grieves me to see you reject the gospel because of this, yet I also understand. --Paranoid-- |

I see what you're saying but it seems you just dont understand. To get to heaven, yes we MUST love the son before we can be with the father. But since we are his children, if we want to live in his house he has rules. They only have to be obeyed if we want to live in his house eternally. He is forgiving, and that is fact. We are not his slaves, we are his children. The difference is that it is our choice. He gave humans the power of free will and choice. I chose to become a Christian. And even though he loves us all, he misses those whom he can not forgive, he cries for his children in hell. but they were given a CHOICE, and by doing what they did, and not PRAYING to be forgiven, they chose hell. If your father set no rules in your house, and you did evil as you pleased, should he give you entrance to the house unless you say you love him and you want forgivness? Also, things are that easy. A man who lives a life of crime and evil, can go to heaven, if even on his death bed he accepts Jesus as his savior and prays for his love and forgivness. I know you are just expressing your opinion, and I am just expressing the truth. Please send me a msg sometime. My love and prayers... |

Why does there have to be ANYTHING? Why must some sort of being have created everything? It's mans concept that there HAS to be something or someone to credit. No one will ever know for sure so why speculate? These christianity posts are becoming so redundant anymore. Everyone believes differently and NO one is right according to them. Stick with NOT KNOWING! It's the ONLY for sure thing...pianoman |

Soul Zenner, please remember that it is the truth to you. It may not be to others. That is the part that we get into trouble with on these debates. God Bless and Blessed Be, Prophacy |

Good thought and good opinion. I try to stay away from these kinds of debates, since I know little about christianity, I just know what I belive, and I just belive it. |

DITTO what Soul Zenner says...We are not salves, we made our own personal choice and not out of fear of burning in hell...we decided to become christian to honor our Father because we Love Him and want to please Him by following His word. The rewards are tremendous and cant be described, only experienced... Blessings, Pammie |

I think you're right. Christianity has a strict no tolerance policy with people who don't become "slaves"...it's called eternal damnation, a.k.a. Hell. If you don't worship and praise and fall on your knees in humble and abject servitude you're lost, doomed to a tortuous future forever. As you said, some "loving" father who would let that happen. If he would approve the violent and excruciating murder of his very own son, what more is he willing to do to us? It makes me wonder. And what of all the evil people roaming around, hurting innocents? And Lucifer? Lucifer was his head angel...if God knows everything, why didn't he know Lucifer would turn against him? And if he did know, why didn't he stop him? God the all-powerful could surely wipe the fallen angel from existence even before he was finished. Some wonderful, beautiful, loving god. But hush my mouth...I'm blaspheming. ;-) After all, God is love...right? Morrigan |

I agree. The object of faith is an unknown. To me that's little encouragement to embrace it. "FAITH: belief without evidence in what is told by one who speaks without knowledge of things without parallel."....Ambrose Bierce. Peace |

Faith is the Substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. I personally believe that God is the highest power. I choose to follow Him, no one makes me. Actually the I have seen the truth and the truth has set me free, I feel more alive, and free because of my choice. |

Hey sister Firstborn!!! Hugs to you. That's one the most non-doctrinal, even-handed and balanced statements I've seen a Christian make in a loooog time. Thank you! Thank you Thank you! I feel exactly the same and it CAN work for both of us. :-) |

As for slaves not having a choice some people don't either when they are being told they are going to hell for everything. Now that is my opinion. I was raised X-tain and have been Wiccan for seven years. To the girl who said her mother said we are devils, we don't even believe in a devil. Might wanna read up on Wicca and form your own opinion.THere are a world of religions beside Chrisitanity and Wicca I respect everyones beliefs as long as they respect mine. I have had one good experience with a Christian pastor and he respected me and was the first not to tell me I was going to hell for my life style. To the person who posted this I can see you for the most part agree with this post. Good post and to all blessings |
