This is a common problem which is almost impossible to avoid. We can't educate animals on how to cross the road, can we? The way you describe the scenes, I also find it repulsive just thru' imagination. The carcasses that I see on the roads are smaller, like cats, birds and rats. They are mainly flatten and you don't get to see the insides floating in the pool of blood. Hope u can get used to it one day ..... don't know if anyone can.  |

The road I live on is always littered with dead animals. Especially deer. It's pretty depressing to have to go by them every day, and they usually sit there for months and months before it gets cleaned up. It's disgusting. Especially when you can actually smell it. I try my hardest to avoid hitting anything.  |

That is really gross, what moon angel said. is that true. Anyway, I feel bad for the animals, and I think the animal control should be in every town, some towns dont have them, so you are stuck with the problem I guess.Speed  |

never had it that bad but i do see it much too often - always makes me sad - especially the ones close the edge of the road where it looks like the person had to swerve just to hit the little thing...it's awful  |

*sighs* now how you feel. there's always some type of roadkill near my school... mostly squirels. it just makes me sick. just recently, i saw a flatten squirel being pecked by a crow... gross!!! **Gemini Child**  |

http://www.hsus.org/safepassage/index.html they are trying to impliment safe passage for animals..so far the results have been positive. I have sent an email to the governor of my state, i suggest the same you will feel better trying to do something for the better   |

Well...I'm an animal lover from way back. I've had pets of all sorts, shapes, and sizes. However, if it's a decision between hitting an animal, or slamming on your breaks and possibly causing an accident, killing yourself or others...well...it's a no brainer. It's a sad fact of the roadways. Doesn't make me happy...just the opposite, but true.  |
