The sun is shinning
the children are laughing
the sprinklers are running
the skin is tanning
the grills are cooking
the lemonade is selling
the chalk is drawing
the people are happy
summer has come here
at long last, it has
the snow has melted
the rain has gone
and tears have dried
coats thrown down
socks discarded
bathing suits out
and on with joy
for no more inside
must we stay
it feels as though
it hasn't been summer
in a very long time
the joy and simplicity
of it all is a welcome treat
and i am full of joy

I didn't really have a summer last year... it was cold...and i was to depressed to enjoy the days it wasn't. I spent most days last summer crying...this ones gonna be different i can feel it... :-) i am so happy
