Right you are cblossom...of course there is a Creator. However, unlike how some would have us believe, "He" is interdenominational and non-denominational all at once, not preferring any one segment of society over any other. <glock> |

I can't prove or dis-prove that some higher power exists out there. Oh blossom sweetie, you always seem to pick this hard ones don't you? LOL@ Anything could be possible, what we can't see, doesn't mean it isn't there right? I mean how can we explain some of this unexplainable phenomenoms that have happened? its so hard. eee.. i want to see what others are saying, take care sweetie. Love |

no one can prove or disprove that there is a higher being. That is why religion is based on faith. However you have your percentage of people that will tell you that a higher power absolutely exists because the bible tells them so. *sigh*...I hope you know your scripture Cb cause I can feel some coming...LOL.... |

Like always you can not prove or disprove if there is a higher power. However, you can prove she has a brain by cutting open her skull and looking at it, or a catscan. There is proof we have a brain and there is no proof there is a God. |

Birdfeed...well they thought the earth was flat...was positive of that at one time. we were not able to view the brain at one time...so there for we were not sure "it" was in existance and never paid it no mind. I am not trying to prove anything here...except.....You should not discredit another for their belief in something that is not visible to you....yet, or even maybe ever. Personaly...I "feel" more then I see and if I am wrong in my belief in 'foo-lala"...then it won't hurt me in the end. I have tried many times to discredit or analize the whole thing....you can really do that with feelings but like I stated....this is just to say......there is NO concriete proof, on either side, so stop the "fighting".... |

Let's be careful: The idea that the earth is flat was never a very popular idea. Early Greeks figured that the earth was round both by tracking the position of the stars and observing the curve of the world as the horizon dipped down. So your argument that "they" were "positive" that the earth was flat isn't valid. -- Shadrach |

CBlossom - excellent post - all one has to do is view what is around us, trees, sky, etc., and if honest with one self, know that what we see is the "essence" of that which is greater - proof is all around us - it just takes an "open" soul to let the reality filter in on a daily basis. So great to see your posts once again along with everyone's responses. Take care. |

I meant my response in the literal sense. Not that you HAVE to prove anything. That which we cannot see should also be proven that it does indeed exist. But you've already categorized when you said "you nonbelievers". That assumes that you DO believe. Correct? And this is not a slam! Merely an observation...pianoman |

It's alot harder to disprove than it is to prove. For example, to prove there are Aliens in space, then we just need to find 1 planet with Aliens on it and then it's proven (assuming it's true.) They might be on the nearest star or even in our own solar system. But to disprove Aliens (assuming we are alone), then we'd have to visit EVERY planet in the Galaxy... and if we find nothing, well the believers will argue that they are in one of the trillions of galaxies we didn't look... so if there is no life, then we'd be looking for an eternity. Get my point? Now, with a Universal spirit, it may be undetectable with every single bit of Technology for centuries to come, but even if we can't find it anywhere, they'll still be people insisting it's there, and thousands of years may go by, and this arguement we have today may still remian. If the spirit does not exist, then we will never be able to satisfy the people who claim it does. If God is hiding under a rock on the planet Zeepofilniba some 900 Million Trillion light years away, then we are in some big trouble if you want us to prove it isn't there. |

no...actually...I am very careful about not letting many know WHAT I believe "exactly"...however in my profile, I state: "I believe in EVERYTHING unless proven otherwise" LOL...believe it or not that works for me I only wanted to try and make an arguement for the believers...maybe I am argueing with myself...who knows???? |

SAD...one more thing...I believe that those who thought the world was round were thought to be "crazy"....and were shunned...were they not???? I am trying to make a point...that is all. sorry if my arguements do not meet your scrutiny LOL and I am always careful...just maybe not by your standards.....that sounded kinda rude. |

No, Blossom: They weren't considered to be crazy. Unfortunately, in their zeal to misteach history, our elementary school teachers gave us this weird story about a man named Colombus who set out to prove the world was round. The problem is, we already knew the world was round at this point. Magellen had down some pretty heavy duty sailing and the Phonecians were very sea-savvy. But in the interest of sanitizing Colombus's real reason for shipping out (debt and a Catholic greed for more land and gold), we're given a world populated by people who think the world is flat. And that just was never really the case. -- Shadrach |

CBLOSSOM, I am not arguing your point just your facts. But for me to believe in something I have to be able to tell it exsists with my senses. I rely on science. And all major religions in america are minorities for the world. |

This is quite humorous to me, Cblossom, since I have run into quite a few people in my lifetime who enjoy "proving" me wrong in my beliefs. So far I have not seen any evidence whatsover on your post that proves the non-existence of any god(s), yet I have seen many statements from people here at USM claiming to know there IS no God. --Paranoid-- |

Bird I agree...but to me, my sense of "feeling" is enough sometimes to much to dispute Paranoid...my challenge was for someone to "disprove" next time...probably not though(..unless someone tells me "I" am wrong)I will ask them to prove to me that there IS |

Maybe feeling is enough for you, but it is not enough to me. I have felt many things in my life that have been wrong (not spiritually) and now know for something to me to be real I need proof. Maybe if I felt something, I owuld be diffrent. But in my life I never have. |

Great post CB..makes people think. I know God exist and not because I can physically see Him. I know he is there, from my own personal relationship with Him and my own experiences. It's all in faith and trust and once you give your life to Him, you know for yourself He is there. I can't see the wind, but I feel it and know it's there. Hugggs, Pammie |
