Your suppose to cut your toenails in a square shape, not rounded at the top to prevent them, also you never cut your toenails all the way down, always leave about an eighth of an inch. That's all I know. ya probably need to talk to a doc.... *~kysta~* |

I've never had one, cuz my mother showed me the correct way to trim my toenails. My Aunt used to have them a lot. and what I said earlier is what the doc told her, and my mother made sure I did it the right way too. Hugs...*~kysta~* |

Well I was always told to prevent ingrown toenails you have to cut your toenails squared..that way they cant grow in..I have never had one, but my husband has, and he had to have surgery to have it fixed...good luck hon..xoxo Ladyluck |

i just had one recently and it got really gross and stuff. i used rubbing alchol a lot to clean out the infection, and hydrogen peroxide works great! then i'd clip the dead skin away as much as i could to help the infection out, and then left it alone. it basically just went away on it's own. it grows out eventually. the best thing to do is not clip them too short or that can happen. ~Fire Angel |
