Should they shut down Napster? I think in my opinion, that they shouldn't, yet I can see the artists' side. We are costing them millions of dollars. Although I still buy the CD's. Post what you think!! =)

luv,

Date: 5/28/2001 12:10:00 PM  From Authorid: 17081    To be honest I like the free music. There is usually just one good song on a cd. I would be willing to pay a monthly fee. I wouldn't want a pay per song thing though.I've been downloading off of Aimster lately. They have all the songs that I look for.
Date: 5/28/2001 12:24:00 PM  From Authorid: 8374    i don't think they should because there's many other programs people use to get music but they don't get into trouble..they shouldn't get rid of napster and it's stupid about the fee things but i think that that's better than no napster at all
Date: 5/28/2001 12:27:00 PM  From Authorid: 26415    LEAVE IT ALONE!!! they dont have to worry bout money they have enough of it!!! god let us DL in peace...LOL....hehe i like the old napster everytime i try to DL something now it doesnt have the song...ohh well...
Date: 5/28/2001 12:34:00 PM  From Authorid: 10798    I think people should have to pay a monthly or yearly fee to use it. That's probably what will eventually happen.
Date: 5/28/2001 12:43:00 PM  From Authorid: 10534    I liked Napster...It doesn't work at all now...Well..sort of. Me, as a fan, i say keep it. But i can also see the artists side...no charge tho! if they charged napster, i wouldnt use it, id just go by the CD.
Date: 5/28/2001 1:19:00 PM  From Authorid: 29766    Napster is dead... <<biohazard>>
Date: 5/28/2001 9:34:00 PM  From Authorid: 14752    Napster sucks lately. You can't find anything!! I read some figures that said that since Napster came into works, record sales have actually gone UP. I don't think we're costing them anymore that unlimited radio play is. If I really like an artist I will still buy the CD. I just think it's all about a lot of money hungry people. I just use Song Spy now. They can't get shut down, cuz they don't run from a central server.
Date: 5/28/2001 10:22:00 PM  From Authorid: 30228    I agree and disagree with both sides. It's too controversial for me. I cannot make up my mind.
Date: 5/29/2001 10:25:00 AM  From Authorid: 24732    I still get songs from Napster, I never noticed it dying, I got this song I'm listening to right now from Napster 2 days ago. Although I don't actually go to Napster, the program I use searches about 15 "copy cat Napsters" I don't think it would make a difference if they charged people because many of us have c.d burners anyways. And the harder that they make it to steal music, the harder hackers will hack into and get if free anyways. And when one mp3 site goes down 10 others come up. (<>..<>Alien
Date: 6/13/2001 3:33:00 PM  From Authorid: 27118    I think a fee would be fine. I mean, really, how long did we all think we were gonna get away with getting stuff for free. Almost nothing is free. I would pay a fee to use it. And most people still go out and buy the CDs. I don't think it was really costing them all that much money but it definitely had the potential for it. SPEEDRACER
Date: 6/14/2001 7:16:00 PM  From Authorid: 31997    Yeah, it's all about that all-mighty dollar, isn't it? If you are making millions off of your albums and tours, why not just let some people get at least something for free? You know the old saying, or at least something like that. "If if's free, it can't be good." Of course not. Again, the quest for the all-mighty dollar. And if you haven't noticed, yes, I think that Napster should either keep it free, or shut it down!!!
