I saw something on the TV recently. It is already been done and some products are on the market. Am amazed the public did not know they were using genetic engineered food products. The issue now, is labeling. Otter2 |

I don't see it as a bad thing, as long as everything is tested thoroughly before it hits the marketplace. This could be the key to making sure no one starves any more; the potential is there...<glock> |

Not until extensive testing has been done, and I mean longterm, 10-15 year testing...You don't just alter mother nature, and throw it out there right away. This is what happens when you combine corporate business practices with agriculture, the pursuit for maximum profits will lead to the destruction of nature as we know it...or not. Ryphis |

Agree with glock so much that it hurts. Technology should be allowed to play it's own course, write it's own tune. It is taking us places we could never even have imagined before. On the other hand, genetics are not simple mechanics. When you turn the crank, the door doesn't JUST OPEN, you know? The long-term effects of what just appears to be a simple adjustment could be CATASTROPHIC, depending on our actual CONTROL over genetics. When our knowledge becomes much greater, perhaps more "experimental" type of work can be done. As for right now, TEST, TEST, TEST!! POWER1 |
