No offense to anyone, but I never really watched alot of MTV even after it's debut. I would check it out on occasion, if there were any specials or artists featured that I enjoyed. So, I can only imagine what it has evolved into these days.  |

really? when are you even seeing videos on MTV??? because everytime i turn it on it's Daria, WWF Heat or some other show...lol But seriously....TRL is a driving force on MTV, you know that...and all of this stuff is what's really popular and thats whats going to be on heavy rotation...just like the dumb boy band thing was...what i suggest is calling your local cable company and requesting MTV2 and/or MTVX...these 2 channels are really gr8...you will see some of the videos that you mentioned above, but they're not the only ones...it's a more diverse mix of music for sure...yeah Rammstein is playing on MTVX and stone temple pilots are on M2...see, you need to get them LOVE YOURSELF,  |

Most of their little shows are crap. I only watch Mtv for Jackass, Andy Dick, and Fear, and even those shows are starting to get crappy like the rest of Mtv. They RARELY play ANY music videos. Only at the end of shows when they are playing the Credits, and during Trl (which never even plays the WHOLE video). I have Mtv 2, and I watch that frequently, and also Much Music, but I don't like Much Music's VJ's. They're just so...stupid, I guess. And I DO agree when you say it's all rap and R&B....Personally, I can't stand Rap music, because it's basically all about s-x, drugs, and shooting people. (Please keep in mind that THAT IS JUST MY OPINION.) Have a Good Day!...  |

In my opinion a music television network should play music videos and mtv barely does. I also think there is room for every type of music and that each should have there turn on the tube. I do agree that they tend to go to one type or the other and over do it. Maybe the executives at mtv should recruit some people who actually listen to and watch mtv and see what we have to say hehe LOL good Post Blue 13 |

I watched MTV when I was in the States in January. I just want to know one thing when do they play any music. Everytime I turned to it I was watching cheap tv shows. So frankly it really sucks. So I have to say I really like Much Music from Canada. Here at least they play all different kinds of music with only one tv show. Enjoy  |

i still see some alternative and rock but unfortunately it's late at night or early in the morning which sucks or unless there's an mtv2 marathon because they play that kind of stuff i think...i don't even know why they have that show 'direct effect' and it's all mainly on rap...why don't we have a show on alternative or rock?? that doesn't make sense now does it...thanks for posting this i agree w/ ya all the way   |

It's a trend/cycle. It will pass and then for about a year or so it will be metal minded. Then the focus will be alternative again, etc...a cycle and it will continue to change many times. What's hip today may not be hip tomorrow.  |

YES!!!! FINALLY SOMEONE WHO AGREES WITH ME!!! I can't stand rap, or country for that matter, but that's a new subject... MTV was good, ONCE a long time ago. And by the way, it's not a fad, it's probably here to say. And rap-metal is NOT good. It's just as bad. And, finally, in the words of a guy in "Guitar World", "If these bands and groups are the future of rock, I think that I'll go out and by a DMX album." Just as bad.  |
