sometimes i think it looks good. maybe it's for attention but that shouldn't be a bad thing. people just need a way to express they're individuality. |

...I'm trapped in the past in some respects. I still believe that you can do what you want to your own body, but, I don't have to like it. What really bothers me is when I get approached by people with the colourful hair and body piercings and they want my pocket change. I'd rather give the money to a street person that looks generally respectable. The money might go towards booze or it might buy the guy a sandwich. I doubt that it will be spent on a new tattoo. I feel that I'm starting to stray from the original topic. Final consensus: to each their own. |

Maybe they do it as a statement or just to be different. I don't think that it looks good, but if they like it that's all that matters. It doesn't effect me either way. Now, if one of my kids decide to do it when they are older, but still under 18, that might be a different story. I'll cross that bridge when I come to it! LOL! |

HAving had odd colored hair at one time I can say for me it was simply a matter of experession. Also I it was simply something to do on saterday night hanging around the house when I was in college. HEckler brings up a point about our society, alot of preconceptions come along with meeting somone looking odd, or strange to us, yet these things may not tell you as much about them as often thought. Still that is another debate all together. |

I think some people look good with different color hair. Maybe the person wants a change in thier life . I dunno I think people can do what they want to thier bodies. If they don't want something permenent hair dye is good. ~*~Kawaii Neko~*~ |

My hair (at the moment) is five different colours. It was originally black and electric blue and I did it because I think it's beautiful. Every morning when I crawl out from between my sheets and peer into my mirror, I've got something interesting to view. Not the typical run of the mill person staring back at me in the mirror. I never get bored this way. I know that when I'm colouring my hair I'll be the only one walking around my campus with something more interesting than a brown fluff ball on the top of someone's shoulders. Something I believe is far more beautiful than the same haircut every girl I know is getting. I don't really do it for the attention factor...I know a handful of people who do, of course. But I honestly am set on believing it's far more attractive than anyone else's trendy, boring, uncreative do. ~~ |

Because my hair is naturally a medium auburn brown, I had to bleach the strips I wanted to dye blue. In about two weeks it will be back to jet black with streaks of red instead of the violent blue I had in before. I'm pretty excited. Iseman, you should try frosting your hair or bleaching a small protion of it, then dying it to see how it takes. Then you can decide which shade you want, and it works better than finishing your entire head only to realize you hate it. ~~ |

i have done every color except orange , thats cause i hate that color, anyway i do it cause I LIKE IT, i could care less if someelse has a problam with it , its my body and i will do what i want with it. i also do the peircing thing, i have done my tounge 3 times , my eyebrow 3 times, my lip 1 time, and my bellybutton 3 times, its a long story as 2 why so many times each , , some people think we r total freaks , and 4 some people its true, i myself am not , if u were 2 meet me , u would think i am the shyest woman on this earth, but to look at me is a different thing altogether, anyway , my reason is cause i like it , and thats all that should matter , is that the person doing it , likes it , 8^} |

I have had my hair streaked pink, and red, and this summer im dying it blue. I don't do it for attention, I do it for the heck of it. I think it fits me and my style. Its just a matter of personal opinion. So anyone that thinks it IS just for attention, take it from someone who knows, its NOT. |

I've had weird colored hair, and I like it and I'm red-dying it purple soon.HOWEVER.....Most "freaks" are into pleasing themselves and don't care what other ppl think of them, so for attention, no.Those of us who are legitamate "freaks" like to do it for OURSELVES. Attention and shockvalue is what worthless posers like Mansonites and such do it for. |

To each his own. It's not really affecting me, only my eyes for a few short minutes. If I really was bothered by it, I'd just look the other way. I think this is just another expression of individuality. |

YOU KNO WTHAT IS A GOOD QUESTION.I BELIEVE WE ALL NEEDED ATTENTION,WE JUST SHOW IT DIFFERENTLY IN EACH OF US.THE COLOR OF OUR HAIR IS NOT JUST ATTENTION,SOMETIMES IT COULD REPRESENT HOW WE FEEL INSIDE.SOMETIMES CHANGE IS GOOD FOR US AND THERE ARE TIMES IT DOES NOT REFLECT OUR CHARACTER OR INDIVIDUALITY.WE HAVE TO LET THINGS BE IMPROVE OF HOW WE EXIST IN THIS WORLD. |

I think that if the person wants to express themselves with different color hair, more power to them, they can do whatever they want.. To an extent.. *hugs* |
