Parents...be careful of public restrooms

I've seen this story on tv a few times. If you haven't heard it before please listen. Anyway, this family was having a reunion at a park. The little boy, sorry I can't remember the name I think it was Matthew. He was approx. 8 yrs. old. Matthew had to go to the bathroom. So his aunt volunteered to go with him. She took him to the mens restroom and stood outside the door. After a few minutes a man came out..but no Matthew. So eventually she went in. She found him on the floor he had been stabbed to death. This is a true story. It reminds you how careful you have to be as a parent. The aunt was standing at the door and this still happened. They did catch the man. He does not regret stabbing the boy. He even says he enjoyed it. At least they caught him. A lot of malls and public places are building family restrooms, rather than just mens and ladies. My son is four. I still take him into the ladies with me. I don't care who gets upset. This is about your childs safety. Isn't it sad that we live in a world where we can't trust anybody any more? I work at Wal-Mart yesterday I heard a story about a little boy who had gone in the mens room. He had locked himself inside a stall and couldn't get out. He was terrified and crying really bad. A stranger found him and alerted management. They had to remove the stall door to get him out. Meanwhile, the mother is nowhere to be found. Eventually she showed up. Isn't that sad? The poor little boy. Ok enough rambling on. Thanks for listening. Dust Bunny

Date: 5/12/2001 6:16:00 AM  From Authorid: 14272    Oh. That IS sad! I still take my 6 year old boy in the ladies room if my hubby's not w/ me to take him. I'm a little paranoid when it comes to my kids-- but justly so! There are some monsters out there! I'd rather be overprotective than sorry!
Date: 5/12/2001 6:17:00 AM  From Authorid: 30747    It's scary alright. I happen to have an 8 year old nephew named Matthew. I have to admit that I do send my son to the mens room alone like if we are in a restaurante. He's 10. I'm going to be extra careful about that from now on. Thanks Aunt Be

He said God told him to kill and pure innocent little boy and such and such. It was this whole 20/20 speacial thing. Well anyways...ummmmm that is very sad. I have seen the family restrooms around at some movie theaters. that shows its getting there. And true about taking your kid with you no matter what...it is for their safety.
