Date: 5/8/2001 2:58:00 PM From Authorid: 34703 I wish I had the motivation to be cleaner. But clutter is ok not dirt. That's what most people look at anyways. I like clutter I don't feel at home without it and I like my bed messy too! |
Date: 5/8/2001 3:03:00 PM From Authorid: 24963 Hey good for you!!! *hugs* I wish I could be a "psycho cleaning mom" LOL I just wish I had more energy and time to clean my house. Sometimes I am just so sick or tired I can barely get up in the morning. Let alone clean my house. My kids are big mess makers because they have learned by watching daddy that mommy will clean it up. I've been yelling at my husband to at least pick up after himself, and most of the time he doesn't. so now alot of times, my kids walk in the door and just throw down thier jackets in the floor and leave them there!! It drives me nuts!!! Luckily my kids are still very young and I still may be able to break them of these bad habits. You have a right to be happy! It sounds like you really had a breakthrough! ~Ferret |

Neat feeling isn't it? |

What you describe is: Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. I know. I had it for many years. I was a clean FREAK! There are many varried degrees. My sister is the worst case I've ever come across. She drives people crazy with her constant cleaning. I still am very neat, and orderly, but it is not anywhere near as bad as I USED TO BE. There is a HUGE difference in being messy and being dirty. Once you get that in your mind, and accept it, it is a whole lot better. I congratulate you on reaching this level, this place, where you can RELAX and not let this obsession control you. YOU are not alone. The Thinker |

If you looked at my room you would be shocked. Everyone always is if they see it. Clothes all around, there is a computer somewhere on my desk. (it's hard to find LOL) but I can always find every thing. Some people have a perfectly clean house but are still looking for stuff. (<>..<>Alien |
Date: 5/8/2001 6:59:00 PM From Authorid: 26717 Oh my gosh Diana, YOU sound exactly like me.!!! I was raised like this by my mom and I had to keep house from the age of ten. My father died and my mom was left with the last four out of eight kids to raise. I was the only girl and I took my moms place in the home. She worked and had a vegetable garden and rose garden. my mom taught me that when your feet hit the floor, the bed gets made. You never get on that bed again until bedtime or unless you were sick and i do mean sick in which you did not get out of bed!! I am everybit like her and raised four kids in a spotless house. I got teased a lot and still do. Every three months, I pull out my fridge and range and washer and dryer and clean them and behind them. I take my bed apart and clean under them and sun the mattresses. I will not allow anything under my beds, or my closets to be dirty. My clothes have to hung up in a certain way, short sleeves together, shirts with collars together, etc., color coorodinated. I just have it bad. I wore out a Rainbow Vacuum in two years. I just buy cheaper ones now and throw them away when they die. I vacuum a lot and I mop my tile on my kitchen about three times a day. I have let up some since my grandson came along, but it eats at me. I think it is a mental problem but I cannot live in a messy house! I could go on and on but no one wants to hear it. I think if I lived alone, I would be just a bad. Is there hope for me, since I read your posting, I said YES YES YES, maybe there is hope for me. CORA |
Date: 5/8/2001 7:05:00 PM From Authorid: 26717 I want to add this, my favorite places to go is my friends houses that are cluttered and messy. I just relax there, is that not odd? My friends tell me that my house is like a museum, they don't feel free to touch ANYTHING. I like theirs because no matter what I do its ok. CORA |
