If you ask me you'd a be a fool not to look at your religion with a critical eye. if you don't think about your beliefs you're being close minded and letting people brainwash you. so if you ask me, doubting your beliefs makes me a better christian, not a bad one ^-^ ~Nekomimi |

I think everyone has moments of doubt, regardless of religion. It's not a bad thing, I don't think. It just means you have to put some extra thought into your faith. Doubt can make you grow stronger in your religion, if used constructively. I find more comfort in KNOWING why I believe certain things than just doing it because everyone around me does it. I doubt God stands up in Heaven with a big ledger book and a pen checking off our names "...Going to Hell for not paying a speeding ticket...Hmm, Hell for smiling at a non-christian, (Check, check)Hell for using up the last of the milk and not buying any more...." I think you'll be fine. Do your best to live Christ's teachings. Let God do the rest. Take care! --Lady Amalthea |

I'm a christian but I also have my doubts sometimes. It's easy to when so many horrible things happen in the world. But in your heart, I think you know what you believe, and shouldn't worry. -*Crow* |

Good question and how brave of you to post it. No you are not wrong or bad or anything like that. Billy Graham the great evengilist wrote in his biography about the time he had doubts and stated that most students in the seminary at some point have their doubts. Is this not wonrderful to know? This is perfectly natural as long as we are not chronically doubting. I like this quote "He who has never doubted has never believed". Doubts are considered healthy if they prod us in to direction of a deeper walk with God he will bless is in our doubts and is faithful to answer us. I found this to be so true. You are not going to hell for doubting at times. Jesus told us all we need is the "faith of a mustard seed. Our faith is not from ourselfs but is a gift from God". There are many books, that can help if you have specific doubts. Josh Mcdowell has several good books that I highly recommend. |

i have doubts and i will be honest thats why i never stop searching for the truth,i dont think you will go to hell for doubt,if you go to hell for doubt then i guess i will too and so will everyone on the planet, the only one who doesnt doubt is God and we are not God,we are his children and just like children sometimes doubt their earth parents and what is best for them, just remember God is with you,he knows your doubts and remember even thomas doubted Jesus and he was one of Jesus deciples right here by his side and watched everything that Jesus done including miracles and such...doubt isnt a bad thing in itself,it helps us distinguish the truth from fiction...if you ever need to talk send me a private message because i still doubt alot too but i always try to help |

On of Christs disciples during his life here on earth was Thomas. We often refer to people who doubt as "Doubting Thomas'". Thomas said that he wouldn't believe in Christs reserection unless he put his finger in the holes on Jesus' hand and his pierced side. Jesus said that we are blessed when we believe and do not see. But I'll tell you what, it's a sure thing that Thomas went to heaven. I don't think you have anything to worry about. A good way to believe more and doubt less is through prayer and reading the Bible. One thing that is interesting to do is write down what you pray to God about (for example good health for your sick friend or wisdom for yourself) and see how long it is before your prayer is answered. Don't expect it will always be immediately, as God gives us the things we need when the time is right for us. |
