I think it is very possible. if only all the overgrown infants (politicians) would quit squabbling over trivial things like who owns the most land and whatnot. and people would stop being so materialistic...then yeah. definately. Peace Out.  |

the main reason why I say there is not going to be world peace beace there is too much street violence in this world. Punks go around thinking they are God and take other peoples lives. It would be very hard for world peace I believe.  |

We can only live in hope. I truly would like to see world peace. But human nature is human nature. Greed and power within people is too strong for world peace to happen. Even your everyday common person has become more and more materialistic, and I see this as a downfall. ~Aussie Girl  |

I am a Catholic and the Pope is absolutely correct. At Fatima, Portugal, The Blessed Virgin came to three small children, warning them(this was during WW1)that a worse war would come upon the earth if mankind did not pray and convert back to God. She told the Lucia, the oldest child that when she saw a strange light illuminating the night sky that it would be a sign of the War. The night before Hitler's troops marched through Germany to declare war, an unusual display of northern lights was seen all over the world. Lucia witnessed this, it was 21 years after the apparitions at Fatima. Mankind did not do as she had requested. In her prophecies to the children, she said that "In the end, my immaculate heart will triumph, and there will be an era of peace." Well, she said that in 1917, and she made several other prophecies which have all come about. This final prophecy has yet to be fulfilled. How will it happen? When enough people say enough rosaries, come back to living the Gospel message, and amend their lives, the era will come. Does that ensure us that everything will be perfect, no. It merely tells us that people will turn to others in service and docility, in imitation of Christ. They will strive to overcome their selfishness and do their best to serve God. If the population of the world was interested in doing this, the world would be at Peace. There is a prophecy(not from Fatima) that could possibly be the turning point if it truly happens. Many mystics throughout the centuries have seen a moment in the future when the entire world experiences an enlightenment before God. It is said that each person will have a similar experience to St. Paul's where we are, in a sense, judged before God's presence, and we will know where we stand before Him. We will see our sins, and the effects of our sins. I imagine alot of people will wake up on that day if this is truly a prophecy of God. Therese |

I dont think that there will ever be world peace. If it were true, then it would be wonderful. I am not saying that I am against it, because who doesn't want peace? The sad fact as I see it though, is that as long as people are different from one another, which they always will be, there will be arguments, and fights, control for power, etc. It's just human nature.

I could see the nations and the people within them coming together if we were ever attacked by aliens or something. Like that movie Independence Day. Somehow I just don't know if world peace is actually possible. I think there are just too many people out there who would want to keep hate in the world. If world peace ever does happen, I am sure it wont be in my lifetime. But, as long as there' life there's hope, right?  Guess we'll just have to wait and see lol.  |
