We probably were in their airspace, and China had a right to detain everything. The apology I disagreed with, but I realize it was necessary to save those people. So sometimes being humble is a good thing. Free Girl  |

Actually according to international law the U.S. spy plane was not in Chinese airspace before the collision. They only entered Chinese airspace to prevent going down in the ocean. So considering that it was an emergency landing they had the right to enter Chinese airspace. China did not have the right to detain the crew or plane, although they do have the right to protest the U.S. spying mission. As for the full apology no. The U.S. plane couldn't have caused the collision, so the U.S. was right not to offer a full apology. Enjoy  |

i ahve to agree with happy heathen on this. The plane was in international airspace and after calling a mayday, they asked to land. They have to ask to land so they know which runway and what conditions are on the ground, and of course the chinese are going to let them. It is nice to see that the crew are now back home though. The Gov's. are hand in hand at all they do. This has just served to anger the Chinese and American populations. The real question is why do the Gov's want the American and Chinese peoples to be antagonistic towards each other?  |
