Knock Upon The Door....by StormTracker5

He sat down in his easy chair; grabbed the remote to the t.v.
Flicking through the channels; wondering if there was anything to see
Nothing on so he grabs his pad and pencil; he just begins to write
The sun was begining to set; the day would end and in would come the night

Just as the words began to flow; there came a knock upon a door
Frustrated he puts pencil down; slowly he begins to walk across the floor
Reaching his destination he opens the door; only there isn't anyone there
Only a whisp of smoke that begins to fade; thinking this a joke he shows no care

He heads back to his writing; as excited as he can be
He hears a voice behind him; turns quickly and there's no one to see
Just night jitters he thinks; once again he sits in his chair
Once again a voice is heard; it's in his head and not really there

A conversation with the voice soon began; something he thought would never be
Exchanging words with a voice; instead of someone that he could see
"I knocked upon your door; you didn't think anyone was there
I felt you walk across the floor; then look as if you didn't care"

"I didn't see anybody around, what else was I to do
A whisp of smoke is all I saw; how was I to know it was you"
"You are not the first to do this; you certainly won't be the last
I'm not some voice from the future, nor am I from the past"

He looked around very confused; not knowing what more to say
Then three words came together; these words "Please go away"
"I cannot go away; you invited me in when you answered my knock
We will soon be very good friends; by the way my names Writers Block...
