Ring around the rosie came from the middle ages when the bubonic plaugue was rampant in Europe. Ring around the rosie was the first sign of the bulbous lesions indicative of the plague. Pocket full of poseys, had to do with stuffing flowers in the dead to mask the oder of decay. Ashes ashes we all fall down, refered to the burning of the dead and the continuation of dying from the plague. Happy little story huh? |
