When I was 17yrs old I heard a 'rumor' from my stepmother that my Dad had a daughter several yrs before he met my mother. At the time I only had what she said and my mother to ask the truth. First of all, my stepmother was not a picture perfect trustworthy person. So I asked my Mom. She told me that the woman married the man she got pregnant by. I totally belived her, I've never had a reason not to.
Years went by and I never thought anything else about it. THEN, a month or so after my father died, I over heard my Mom and my Dad's sister talking about her. My aunt said, "Howard's other daughter wanted to meet him before he died but he told her No."
Okay..that told me that I really did have a sister. I had planned on asking my stepmother who she was. I had just put it off because I didn't want to start any trouble. In the last few weeks I had seriously been tring to find my stepmother to ask her. Well, that wasn't meant to be. My stepmother died tragicly last week. I have asked my aunt and she refuses to tell me. I'm not going to ask my Mom because she has other problems to deal with let alone me digging up the past. My stpemother was the only other person who could or would tell me.
It is so hard going out in public and having people say Oh you look just like so-n-so. Do you know her?
Can you help me find her? I don't even have a clue to what her name is.
