I Still Remember Father

I still remember when you left,
and unsuspecting me.
Thought one day he'll be back
and then cried for unknown reasons.

I still remember the last phone call
The look upon her face.
And I knew then and there
you were gone, for good, from this place.

I still remember hating you.
For bringing so much pain.
For you gave us no goodbyes.
And nothing left to gain.

I still remember fights we had
and how you ticked me off.
I hated you then, as I do now,
but the love here still remains.

I still remember hating her
for you loved her so much.
And in my mind, it was me, not her,
you gave your loving touch.

I still remember birthdays
with no signs of hello.
And I can't believe you care,
so much, you never even call.

I still remember how I cried,
waiting for a word.
I let them believe I hate you,
and keep on missing you.

So father please remember,
one day when you come back.
The ways you never treated me,
and expect to get it back.

Shelly.

Date: 3/26/2001 6:13:00 PM  From Authorid: 30482    Your anger toward your father is exactly the way I feel about mine. He never calls or shows in any way that he cares. He left without a goodbye and never came back. -scorpio_eyes13
Date: 10/8/2001 9:46:00 PM  From Authorid: 31255    wow so sad. I never had a good relationship with my father. I can really relate to your emotions and the intensity of which you write them. This is incredibly sad and just hits close to home... I think having a parent like this will always have a lasting effect unforuntately. *hugs*
Date: 10/8/2001 11:08:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 31368    You're right it does have a lasting effect. But at least I can say I am a stronger person for it. Writing this helped to get alot of the weight off my shoulders. If I need to get in touch with the pain I read this and then I put it away when I'm done. ***Shelly***
