There was this man who was traveling home. This is back in the days when they used horses, and travelled on horseback. The man was travelling home, it was late but he wanted to reach home that night. He didn't know the area well but he thought he could manage. He took a short cut past a grave yard. A few miles past the grave yard a young woman was standing there. The man asked if she wanted a ride and she knobbed and said the next town would be fine. The woman rode infront of the man, so she wouldn't fall off. She was becoming heavier and heavier as they rode, the man thought i was just his arms that were tried. When they reached the next town, the man let go and to his suprise the girl fell to the ground DEAD. The man becoming frightened that the townsfolk would think he killed her, began to panic. They told him: "Don't worry Laddie her kin will be along to take the body back. She was the daughter of a near by farmer, she was killed and burned in that graveyard just yonder you past. On the annisary of her death she trys to walk home."

This a form of the legend the hitch hiker it has been around for hundreds of years.
