i think everyone does but a lot don't get a chance to discover it. Because it is up to us to figure this out. I think my talent is to draw but even at that i'm not sure because i'm not the greatest but i'm not the worst!! i want to be an architect but i'm not that creative!! I was born as a gift with a bow on my head:-)..LOL..well that's what my mom has always said..LOL...I think the word talent can mean absolutly anything. I have a talent, I can get up 5 days a week and go to work...hey that's a real talent for me..LOL....What about those that are born in what we call handicapp, In a coma type state of mind?? Do they have a talent?? hummm I never thought about that one before, you made me think....ouch...that hurts the old noggin here..LOL...hugs, this is a great post!!!!!!  |

I definitely feel that people are born with all sorts of talents but they don't have the energy to find what they are good at....it is unfortunate....I guess I should dig a little deeper and see what I am good at....good post...and you did not make me mad this time...Heehee..........Bw |

Yes, I do!!! I believe all people are born with something. I believe some of the SPIRITUAL gifts people are born with will never be realized either sometimes. I believe that many have the gift of prophecy or healing that will never be able to be used by God because they don't let the Holy Spirit use it.  |

Yep...I really do believe we all have gifts that we are born with. Some are more obvious than others and some take some work to develop more. But they are there. Dizzy...I know you feel that you make people mad. Personally, I feel that you have a gift of insightfulness and an ability to cut to the core of things quickly...just work on the wording and let people who may not have the talent to be as quick catch up at their pace...it will help. (I hope this doesn't offend you...I actually mean it as a compliment...you are very intelligent.) -Lady Nyx  |

good post. i have thought of this before and i do believe that we are all born with special talents. i think the way to uncover them would be to try a lot of different things and see what you excel in. i think i have a talent in music. i found that out by playing around a lot with different things.  |

Hi Dizzy. Yes, I think that we are all born with a talent or gift. I think that there are many reasons why we may not find it. 1.) We are told to focus on something, in our society, people who try different things instead of settling on something that may not be their talent, are seen as flibberygibbets, unfocused, "Generation X" or lazy. Many of the baby boomers have been at their jobs for 25-30 years just like their parents were and look upon it as the only way to do things. We are expected job-wise and talent-wise to focus. 2)Financial. Everything from hockey to ballet is not cheap. It is expensive for parents to have children developing a talent, let alone jumping around. 3)Ignorance of what is out there. You don't know what you don't know.  |

I think that everyone has some form of hidden talent...the trick is finding it and honing it until you perfect it Never be afraid to try new things and express yourself. That is the best way, I believe, to find whatever talents you have. If I had not been an experimantal (and stubborn) child, I never would have discovered my talents for art music and writing. I ticked off many a teacher in my day...but as I got older, I had just as many commend me on it.  |

Good question! I don't feel like I have found my hidden talent yet either. I do think you are born with a certain talent though. For example, I have a few brothers who are very talented artists. They draw so beautiful and me, I draw stick men. Another thing, maybe what you might see as a talent in someone else, they might not see it as a talent at all. Just a thought...  |

I think we are born with the potential to be talented in many things, but the circumstances in our lives is what brings some of them to the fore. For example, I decorate cakes as a profession. I am told I am talented at this. But I probably never would have discovered this if it hadn't been for my mother-in-law who does this too and taught me how.  |

My experience has taught me that most people can do most things well with enough drive and practice. However I do believe that some people have sublime gifts, that they are born with. Take Mozart, for example, who was composing by the age of 4. |

EVERYBODY has a "gift/talent. But most people dont undstand. For instance: I have always loved fishing. FISHING? A gift? You bet it is. For the last 2 years I have taken my fishing skills to the Big Brothers Org. and brought less fortunate Kids fishing. You cant imagine the joy it brings to these kids lives, not to mention my own! You see a gift doesnt have to be something extremly talented, just something well used. |

I think EVERYONE is born with some type of talent and gift. I myself have found mine. I have three. Some people only have one, some people have many more. Mine are singing, writing and acting.
