Well I can not prove to you God is real, nor can anyone else. The proof is in your heart. I have had some angel experiences once. One time I was lieing in bed and I saw this figure come right at me, I got scaered and closed my eyes and I felt something hug me. I don't know what it was but it was nice. So you can believe whatever you choose to and no one can stop you, but I will always be a believer in my God  |

Although they say seeing isn't always believeing...well why should we strp into something so blindly. You all have to admit that anything could be a hoax and we all know it.for example almost everyone in germany was persuaded that hitler was "good" but we all know he wasn't. This just shows how gullable people can be. Now i know all the preachings that "god" gives are good, but why can't we jsut live by thise things without having to say that someones says we have to? |

I like Danielle's comment. It really is true that this is a decision that each person must come to (or not) individually. If you are truly searching...you must do the work yourself and read (not just the Bible) and pray and meditate yourself. Hi Shimmer..I believe that God has already proven He exists..The only thing left really is that He didn't sign His art work as an artist does..He didn't put His name on humans and animals,on the trees and the flowers,in the sky and the planets,on the waters and the wind..He didn't write His name in a physical sense,but He did write His name in many other ways..That is God's proof to mankind..As I said before..If God would have written His name all over everything He created,then much of mankind would still not believe it and ask God to prove that He signed His name..God has proven to mankind that He is..Mankind should seek God and He is not far from us..God says if you are seeking,you will find Him..Sincerely Rusure  |

Honey what does "real" mean to you??? Real as in tangable?? Or real as in mind set???If I told you that is could dissappear in front of your eyes, and did so, would that be real to you?? Or would you say it was a trick?? If I told you that you could take a industrail size cooking spoon and by a thought, you could bend it into a pretzel, and you saw it happen, would that be real to you?? What I am getting to hear, it is all in the emotion of what is real to an individual. Is mickey Mouse real?? But everybody believes in Mickey Mouse. I would like to talk to you about this. I don't want to blow your question off so easy. I think yuo have a great point, and that we should talk about it. Well shimmer, I think you are asking a question that you NEED to ask. I think this question is one that everyone has ask. I know it sounds strange hearing me say that it's a question that you need to ask because you know where I stand on this subject. I am a very STRONG believer in God. The reason I say this though is because many people just go along with what someone else tells them and they don't question. When they are confronted about WHY they believe this, they don't know why or can't answer why. We all need to know why we believe what we do. I will tell you why I believe with every part of my being that there is a God, ok??? First of all, when I think of God, in my mind it's like the wind. I can't SEE God but I can feel God and I can see what God does. Although God and the wind are invisible, we know they exist because of other evidence for them. Besides the fact of the testimonials of SO MANY people and things which I have seen and experienced in my life, I believe the Bible to be true and accurate. The Bible explains to me who God is, who He was and who He will be. By the way, He is the same. It explains to me that God was the beginning of all things. I realize there has to be a beginning with something or someone. I believe, as the Bible tells me that God was the beginning. I have seen an angel but we don't have to see an angel to know the existance of God. I have seen how people's lives were changed and how God draws man to Himself. These are all proof to me. We all have doubts at times, especially when we don't feel close enough to Him. Just SEEK Him and He will reveal Himself in His own way to you.  |

God already came to prove to the world that He is real and that he loves us. Unfortunately we killed him. Fortunately, He didn't stay dead. people are always saying, prove the existence of God. Jesus did that very thing but many people still didn't believe. What do YOU mean by proof? They saw him in the flesh and WOULDN'T believe. I think the main reason people "can't" (won't) believe in God is that if you acknowledge that He is there, then you must also acknowledge that His ways are better than our ways. To the point, the main cause of disbelief is the fact that people don't want to be accountable for their actions. |

Well...sadly to say there is no tangible thing that could convince you on the spot. Unless...I guess if you witness a miracle or act of God personally. Which has changed some people I know into believers. I hope someone can do a better job at giving you proof. My only proof is the answers to my prayers. God is always helping me out of struggles. I can feel Him there when I'm praying. I have been through a lot in the past 4 years, and I don't think I could have gotten through it all without God. I prayed like a maniac for a while, and God answered my prayers so obviously and distinctly that I got goosebumps. I know that's not proof for you...but it sure is for me!  |

I posted a story today on 'faith' Shimmerkiss. And the truth of the matter is, you cannot, using logic, explain faith or make someone who doesn't have it, understand. I have faith that there is a supreme being but can I prove that to you? No, I can't because it comes from my heart and my mind. I could tell you all the things that have happened to me to make me have this faith but once again, that is my own belief and some would not see it the same way. To answer your question, we must first sidetrack ourselves to answer the question of whether God has revealed Himself to us for us to know. Is the Bible accurate or not; if the answer to your question is YES, there is your proof, if not, then the answer would be God doesn't exist. Literary historians test the accuracy of antique historical documents using a three test methodology: the bibliographic test, the external evidence test, and the internal evidence test. The bibliographic test asks how many copies are in existance, how old is the oldest copy, how many years apart are the earliest known copy and the time of the earliest (suspected) publication of the document, the span of time between the suspected publication and the event being recorded, and are there any changes in the known copies that cannot be attributed to mistranslation or typographical errors. Comparing the New Testament with a document that is concidered historically accurate (Julius Caesar's History of the Pelopennisian War) shows the New Testament to be one of the most historically accurate documents ever written. In catagorical order listed above (NT/JCPW): 5135 copies/10 copies -- 1930 yrs (fragments to 1960 yrs/975 yrs -- 70 yrs (fragments to 40 yrs)/1025 yrs -- 70 yrs (40 fragm)/25 yrs - none/ each copy having changes not typo or translation related. This establishes both the times in which it was written, and that it was written within the lifetimes of those who could refute its accuracy. Which brings it to the external evidence test. This tests whether there is any evidence confirming the stories. Archeology has recently discovered evidence of Herod the Great's Slaughter of the Innocents recorded in the NT. Pontius Pilate name appears on an ampletheatre in Judea. The Talmud, certainly not friendly to Jesus confirms that he was cruxcified for sorcery, confirming they believed Jesus' miracles to be of demonic origin, but more importantly that the Rabbis believed they happened. Josephus, the Jewish-turned-Roman historian mentions Jesus twice, although the second reference is suspected to have been altered. Pilney the Younger, Tactius, and Cicero's letters to Paul all confirm Christian belief in Jesus' resurection. Recently discovered at the Dead Sea is a new scroll which dates to 20 years after Jesus' death describing the Rapture, but scholarship is incomplete on this at the moment. The external test shows that outside sources, some of them hostile to Jesus and the early Church, verify many of the historical claims found in the NT, such as miracles, albet they try to explain them away as something other than what Jesus said they were. Now we come to the internal test. This analyses any internal inconsistancies within the text. While there are too many to go through here, we can examine the central claim to Christianity - the Resurrection of Jesus - as an example. The claim that a man rose from the dead is a fantastic claim. But yet the apostles made just such a claim. Jesus was witnessed by 500+ persons after His cruxcifixion. All it would have taken to kill Christianity in utero would have been ONE person coming forth to say "I was supposedly there and I never saw Jesus. It is a lie." No one ever came forth. The Romans and the Sanhedren also could have stopped the movement cold by simply producing the body and parading it through the streets of Jerusalem. They didn't. Some might have countered that the body was stolen, so a body could not have been produced, but this flies in the face of archeological evidence that states once a Roman seal was placed on a location a sentence of death would face anyone trying to break the seal. Plus a garrison was stationed there at the tomb, and leaving their post would have resulted in their deaths as well for desertion. Plus remember the apostles had proven themselves cowards by denying Jesus at the crucial moment of his arrest and trial. (Keep this fact in mind for later.) Cowards to not face armed soldiers. Others would counter that Jesus didn't die, but swooned on the cross and simply walked out of the tomb days later. I would point to an article in the New England Journal of Medicine (available online - don't know the address though) that attempted to detemine Jesus' death from written accounts which concluded He was as good as dead from the scourging. (His final means of death was from a ruptured sack around the heart - He died of a broken heart). But more importantly is the claim that the stone was rolled away UPHILL; certainly a half dead man would not be able to accomplish such a feat. But the most important point is the cowardice of the apostles. Cowards before His death, willing to die for the Truth afterward. People have been willing to die for what turned out to be a lie. but no one has ever willingly died for a lie KNOWING it was a lie. Especially when telling the truth would spare their lives. The conclusion I come away with is the NT is the complete Truth - all of it. So to answer the original question "Is God real?" You do the science. Peace, Tom |

Well, I can't prove anything to you. I wish I could. All I can say is I know God is real. He has revealed Himself to me time and time again. But, spiritual things must be spiritually discerned. If you are serious, start seeking God with all your heart. Pray, go to church and read your Bible. Open your heart and mind to God and be receptive to what He has to say to your heart. Those who seek....will find Him. But, you must be sincere and seek with all your heart.  |

I had a bad car accident that will stay with me the rest of my life and it only happened to me to show me that God was real. He forgave me and has blessed me many times over. ok to answer your question, I don't kow if I can prove good is real. I can tell you that I have prayed to him once that my aunt wouldn't have cancer, and the next time she went to the doctor, all the lumps she had in her breast were GONE. I think that is enough to make me believe, other then that read over some prophesies and they should tell you some things that show God must have been real. I hope I could help.AirBoy  |

He told me to tell everyone what He told me, and also where He wanted me to hide. I did just this. People thought I was crazy, but when the time came, they remembered what the message was. We had no radio on to tell us about it.It just happened I was from Kansas and knew what a tornado cloud looked like, but I had never actually been in one, nor had I ever seen anything so big. (I'd also been told that it was rare for one to hit a downtown area, nor had a tornado ever hit downtown Nashville, someone said) As I ran for my hiding spot, the tornado picked me up bottly and laid me down on my stomach in the street. It only blew me as far as wherer Good had told me to hid. It was suddenly still. I was inside the eye of the storm. When I was safely out of harms way, the wind picked up again at its orig speed(abt150mph) and continued tearing through the downtown area.I heard glass breaking all around me. What's more, my wallet with hundreds of dollars in it blew away, and I got it back with every dime accounted for...... The Hand of God was upon me that day. Tom, your evidence is compelling. And Moonpriestess, to many who need to hear the voice of something that they consider an authority, such as the Bible, Koran, Torah, etc., the Supreme being/Creator must be given a name,sex, and identity, or if you will a persona, before someone can identify with them and name them God/Goddess. Has this Supreme Being sent Messengers to us? I absolutely think so. Look at the miracles that have been worked upon this earth. But as many minds cannot embrace the concept of a Creator that does not look and or act like a human, right down to needing to have a sexual identity, they must classify this Supreme Being. For myself, in just my opinion, I feel there is a little of the Creator in all things. Does that mean the Creator could look like a rock, or a leopard, or, heaven forbid, a woman? I also believe the Creator will present itself to you in a way that is most acceptable to you. And Shimmer, I love what Tom had to say. There was a wonderful Peter Jennings documentary on a couple of months ago called "The Search for Jesus", and the conclusion to that show, to me, was that even if the Gospels are a little different, even if all facts contained with the New Testament cannot be proven, there seems to be undeniable proof that this man they called Jesus was a Healer and a Miracle Worker. Is that in itself not proof that there is much more to this existence than we can physically see? Having been raised in America, I am much more familiar with the Bible than with other great religious doctrines, but I would bet that many miracles were performed in those, also. Lightworker  |

To the above - 'God' isn't written on a single one of those things. That's nature - pretty and pure. Anyhow, lacking proof, I shant believe in such. I think some people who get really fanatic make up god in their heads and let it rule them and their thoughts - that's my opinon though I'm sure I'll get bashed sooner or later - most likely by an UA. I've got several thoughts on it, but I can't believe without proof. I would say I'm a sun and oxygen worshipper. First, you can SEE the sun, no question there - and I dont annoy them with prayers. Without those two things, I'd be dead, and I KNOW someone will say 'well who put them there?' - who said they were 'put' there in the first place? Alternate methods of planetary and solar conception ARE possible. That concludes my rambling for now I guess  |

You just believe it, its a feeling. No one can explain it except for yourself, to yourself. It couldnt be faith if you could actually PROVE it existed. For all i know, the world could come to an end, at any moment, and we would all just vanish and not go anywhere. But most of us dont believe this. Why? I dont know. The bible tell us that he fill us withh his spirit, those of us that are not walking in Christ never really and truly experience their holy spirit at work. It is a truly remarkable experience, and I know that no one (humanly) kind put that kind of feeling in you when you are rejoicing in the holy spirit. Believe me God is real |
