Dear Bethany,
Daddy is fighting in the war, and they are holding alot of us for back up, just in case the others die. im not sure if im going to make it home. but i always want you to remember that just because im gone doesn't mean that i won't come and visit. it is hard to write this letter, because im hurt, and my fingers are very shaky. but don't worry sweetie i just want you to know that i love you, and that i will always be there for you no matter if you need me or not. tell your mother that i love her, im going to have to finish this up later, they want to see me in the captains tent....
to who this may concern i have been told to finish this letter up, because your father had been killed, and he wanted to me to tell you that he loved you, and to never let the evil dark clouds get you done. and know that he is watching you from the clouds above. one last requested he asked before he passed was for me to tell you that he wanted you to have his metals that he earned in battle well i must be going good luck on your journey
