THE TREE THAT HAD SAP THAT WAS HUMAN BLOOD.......COMPLETLY TRUE......

This story is very true I have actually seen this tree and gotten samples of the blood.

The story originates from the village where my mother was raised and grew up in It is called Holuwagoda and is a very small village in Sri-Lanka. Back before there was a village very long time ago probably in the 1700's there was a group of people who came in a boat to this forest to explore it. They had a statue of ganesh with them. (This statue is said to posses mystical powers. According to a local village story which actually did happen a drought occured and there was no water anywhere all the plants were dying and finally the statue was given a cermony( an offering) and the whole place was flooded with water) they set up camp because it was getting dark and placed the boat oar they came with into the ground. And also dropped the statue making the arm break off. The next day they tried to lift the statue but could not do so it was very very very very heavy. it had increased it's size. Then they tried to get the boat oar but it was planted into the ground. How the men got on their way is unkown but many years later around the year 1940 a priest looking for a place to set up a temple and found this barren spot of land. He saw the statue and lifted it and he could do so( it was later found out that the statue can detect if a person had a good heart or a bad one, this is known to be one of the mystic powers it possess) then he tried to nail something to the oar which was now a huge tree and out came a squirt of blood it was later found out to be human blood and the tree is now protected and thought of as a very sacred tree which still has no name in fact the tree gives off no seeds and the leaves are a strange tear drop shape. The Statue is also very sacred and many of the villagers go to it if they have a problem and they are solved and so are illnesses ( but no major ones are known to have been cured)
