"The Best Price to Pay" by Ariah

She flashed her greatest grin
And displayed her greatest pose.
Her Daddy died last night
But no one even knows.

Her Mommy told her secrets
And made her promise not to tell.
She was told to hide it all,
And with it her heart fell.

Why did her Mommy tell her lies
And get her hopes up everyday?
Her Mommy wanted the best for her,
And her esteem was what she had to pay.

Mommy's little girl grew up
And always let things be.
She never shared her feelings
And hid herself from all to see.

The day her life fell apart,
She sat alone and cried.
Her world came tumbling down
The day her Mommy died.

At first she was silent
And let her soul ache.
Her days soon became unbearable
And she realized that secrecy was a mistake.

She soon called a friend
And shared what was within.
She realized that sharing
Was in no way a sin.

Now she lives life happily
And cherishes everyday.
She gave up her old life
And that was the best price to pay.

(this is one of my only rhyming poems because i think it is so much harder to rhyme words. do you think it sounds okay? it's a lot cheesier than my usual stuff so i don't know.....peace, love, and happiness -ariah)
