**Free To A Good Home**{xrayer}

The sign says "Free to a good home",
As tears roll down from my eyes.
"Slightly used" are the next words you see,
"Only the serious should reply".

"A few dents, and marks on the outside",
But enough love to last a life time.
Faded paint across my outer soul,
It's only my broken heart and this ragged sign.

Chains still erupt around my heart,
The ones that you left when you walked away.
You never opened your ears or eyes,
For with the love that I felt, I could never stray.

The walls may need a bit of paint,
As the tears ran down them for so long.
To break this loving heart of mine,
You proved to be unloyal and wrong.

So now I sit with the sign that reads,
"To a good home I will mend and survive".
But I give no guarentee to whomever,
That my heart can completely revive.

No rent will you have to pay to live here,
Just treat the place real nice and with care.
And over look the appearance of it,
For heartache has left a few holes there.

I will leave the door open real wide,
If there is one out there that wants this place.
As I sit here in solitude and loneliness,
With tears streaming down my face.

Date: 2/10/2001 2:00:00 AM  From Authorid: 10075    Awww Cindy...your heart is beautiful whatever state it may be in ***hugs*** You deserve the strongest and truest of loves. I dont know why it is that the good people in life sometimes get treated so poorly, but I am sure that in the end their hearts desires shall be theirs for the taking...Love you lots sweetie...

Date: 2/13/2001 9:12:00 PM  From Authorid: 18111    The last three days I've been working amongst those who live in run-down housing and are exploited. The exteriors often do not belie the warmth that resides within those residences, and other other times it does. Sad, isn't it.

Date: 7/25/2001 9:06:00 PM  From Authorid: 30312    I know this was posted a long time ago...but I just seen another one of your poems that BigO posted. You break my heart with each one. I feel for you. You write beautifully tho. I am touched with each one I read. Keep it up and thank you...just for sharing. I have had those feelings and tried to put them into words, needless to say, it sounded nothing like this. ~DaisyDolly~
