End Time Prophecies

There are many out there claiming the world will end in the year 2000, 2001, 2002, and so on. Many books have been written by those claiming to have received visions from God telling them the world is going to end in 1962, 1976, 1984, 1985, 1990, and 1995. These years have come and gone uneventful and inspite of this there are those who still claim the world is going to end on such and such year and date. These claims are not only written in books which have sold by the millions but this same sermon is preached from many pulpits by those who are self-proclaimed prophets as well as ministers. This is why the Scriptures plainly says:"Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." 2 Timothy 2:15. Why does the Scriptures tell us this? So you can know for yourself exactly what the Scriptures teach and not be led into error resulting from false doctrines and false teachings. This is another perfect example as to how Satan distorts the character of Christ and His written word solely designed to mislead many into thinking the Lord does not mean what He plainly says surrounding His coming...

"But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up." 2 Peter 3:10.

"Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame." Revelation 16:15.

Jesus has plainly foretold what shall come to pass prior to His coming along with signs in the heavens and upon the earth. If one would simply sit down and read in the Scriptures what He said regarding the end times they wouldn't be misled by those who claim to be prophets of Christ telling them when He is going to come again for He never taught this nor is it Scriptural for He plainly said:"But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be." Matt.24:36-39. Jesus also warns us with the following..."Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. Behold, I have told you before. Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not. For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be." Matt.24:23-27.

When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel? And he said unto them, "It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power. But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth." Acts 1:6-8.

If the angels in the heavenly courts don't know the day or hour of the Lord's coming what makes you think mankind would know? Jesus plainly said no one including the angels know only the Father knows the exact day and hour of the Lord's coming. There are many signs indicating His soon coming but to predict or even suggest when He is coming is a dangerous and deceptive practice for Jesus has made himself very plain regarding this and if many would study and heed His plain warning surrounding His coming much fear and confusion would be avoided and Satan's scheme would be nullified. There are still many to this very day who still proclaim from the pulpit, TV talk shows, and best sellers inspite of their proven errors and falsehoods the exact day of the Lord's coming but many people still buy into this lie simply because they will not heed the word of the Lord and believe a lie. Another scheme Satan has invented in the minds of self-proclaimed prophets and seers is to suggest the coming of the Lord instead of predicting which is just as bad as predicting His coming.

That is like saying aiding and abetting a criminal which is just as bad as committing the crime itself. It really behooves one to study the Scriptures for themselves and learn of the Lord's will so as to not be led into error by Satan's snares who is come to kill, steal, and destroy. As an example of what is meant by Satan who is come to kill, steal, and destroy look at the end results of those who followed Jim Jones, David Koresh and his Davidians, and Heaven's Gate. This is but a few tragic examples in our time resulting in the loss of many lives due to the acts of these so-called prophets and this is why Jesus warns us to beware of those claiming to be Christ and the rise of many false prophets for not only do they mislead with false promises and hopes which leads to a false sense of security but they can cause you to lose your life without any hope of eternal salvation and deliverance through Christ and this is Satan's ultimate plan.

Date: 2/9/2001 7:43:00 PM  From Authorid: 26908    Right on, I agree with everything you say. However, I have the feeling some great conflict is coming, maybe within the next 10 years? I'm not the only one who has had these feelings also. Many predictions of the Bible has come true, like the Jews going back to their homeland, the rise of natural disasters, the rise of demonic opression/supernatural occurances, the list goes on. Thanx for letting everyone know that no one really knows the date or time. Keep it up

Date: 2/9/2001 8:22:00 PM  From Authorid: 15033    Yes, I have heard this before and I believe no one knows...however, I think things are taking a turn of events as never before. They were lacking a few pieces to the clue the end was at hand before. Not now...but still, no one knows the exact day and time...thanks for sharing this...Love,
Date: 2/9/2001 9:06:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 9544    Thunderhead we know the time is very near but we must also take heed to what Jesus plainly said surrounding his coming for look at the results of those who haven't heeded the Lord's plainly written word in the past and present.
Date: 2/10/2001 10:49:00 AM    it says in the bible that all this stuff is gonna happen before the world actually ends, and were tlkaing years of stuff, so when you say the world ening do you mean the strart of it or the end of it?, and none of the stuff has actually happened, some signs ahve always been here cause there jsut i our everyday life, but i dont thinka ny of the major signs have happened, have they?, if so wich ones?
Date: 2/10/2001 5:41:00 PM  From Authorid: 25570    It is true that no one in this entire universe knows when Jesus will arrive, except God. Many of these false prophets know it won't happen,so they just think of a date (by that time they will be dead, like in 200 years) and then they won't have to apologize and say they were wrong. It is something that the devil is using to make a mockery out of Christianity. Have Faith! Days...
Date: 2/10/2001 7:30:00 PM  From Authorid: 21839    I agree with you... no one knows the time or the day but I do believe it is close....We need to be ready at all times....Sugar Bear
Date: 2/10/2001 11:04:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 9544    Author 25570 a lot of these false prophets and seers are still alive and preaching falsehoods today. Although the general public know that their predictions have been wrong yet they still fall for these lies and buy into it and thats what amazes me. Some of these false teachers who have written books claiming to know when Jesus is coming again not only have been proven wrong simply because the dates they predicted have come and gone uneventful but they still write books surrounding the subject then move the date up to another date with an explanation and many people buy into these lies and deceptions and this is what happens each and every time when one puts aside the Scriptures and ignores the Lord's precepts. These same people would not be so afraid and confused running around like a chicken with its head cut off if they would only open the Holy Scriptures and read what Jesus plainly said regarding His coming, the signs of His coming, and other events surrounding the end times. As you can see in my posting here there are several examples that occurred in our time regarding false prophets and false Christs. Look at the end results of those who followed these false messiahs. They paid for it with their lives which could have been prevented and what a tragedy it was. This is one of the main reasons why Jesus warned us about listening to and following false prophets and seers for the end results are almost always the same with their followers committing suicide or being killed by their own and that isn't the character of Christ nor does He teach such false doctrines. This is how Satan deceives so many by misrepresenting the character and teachings of Christ thereby sending many to their doom without any hope of salvation and deliverance through Him and this is what Satan's plan is.
Date: 2/12/2001 7:11:00 AM    I find it interesting that so many people have a desire to know the future. You can see it more and more every day. Take for example all of the "Psychic hot lines" people think they will have some kind of security in knowing the future. You are right in saying that no one will know when Jesus is coming. but even if they did...would anything change? probably not. The fact that they know would more than likely just give them an excuse to continue living "according to the ways of the world". They might say "oh I've got time. He's not coming until next Year, I'll change before then." Of course in order for someone to change (whether they know when the end is coming or not) it requires that they believe in Jesus to begin with. I fi don't beleive in Jesus, then it makes no difference to me that he is returning. I guess my whole point is that the END isn't what's important. It's the NOW that matters. Do you know Jesus now? Are you telling people the GOSPEL NOW? The Gospel isn't the about the "end times" it's about the NOW TIMES. the end times are something to be feared. The Gospel takes away all fear. (That's why it's called "The Good News"
Date: 2/15/2001 7:31:00 AM  From Authorid: 25803    No , noone know's when Jesus will return but God himself. But i do believe we are in the end times. Waiting for His return. IAm4Him
Date: 3/18/2001 7:53:00 PM  From Authorid: 9219    Hi there... I am no one to judge, and no one knows for sure....but I am not sure If I believe that there is a "Second coming", nor that the world/time will end. I am unsure, and find it a very interesting topic, but I believe that when the world/time ends, it will be because the sun got too close to earth, or something "natural" happened, which I think, personally, will be a very long time from now.
Blessed Be,
