~Remember Me~
Remember me when flowers bloom Early in the Spring
Remember me on sunny days In the fun that Summer brings
Remember me in the Fall
As you walk thru the leaves of gold
And in the wintertime-----
Remember me In the stories that are told
But most of all remember me Each day-----
right from the start
I will be forever near For
I live within your heart
Tonight I returned to my little cabin home here in the quiet peace and solitude nestled in the mountains of Kentucky. Today I watched as the casket bearers carried another loved one to a grave. A week ago today, in the early morning hours my mom had stayed the weekend with me thankfully, when we received the word that the day before my beloved beautiful Cousin; Tammy and her husband Jeff were on their way home after buying a car for Tammy. At the time the car dealership wasn’t even aware that Tammy & Jeff had been involved in the collision when they delivered the car.
While Tammy & Jeff were enroute from Virginia, they were hungry, deciding to stop----- family, friends had said, when someone in a truck driving 75 mph hit their car on my cousin’s side, the impact killing her instantly.. Tonight my heart hurts, as the entire family is deeply hurting, grieving. When You say Your Prayers, please remember all of the families in Your Prayers tonight….
As I walk this journey this path of grief, sorrow---So many memories are going through my mind. While reading the endearing sentiments left on the memorial wall to the family. Her husband posted a message while he is slowly recuperating from his injuries, he was thanking those who have shared their thoughts, their hearts. But one message gave me chills. It was from a man, more than likely a witness to the collision. His words were simple and short. He said he didn’t know her or her family but would never forget her and prayed that God would ease the family’s pain of this tragic day.
Indeed, those who knew and loved her will never forget her---will never forget her courage, her beautiful smile, her kindness-----her beautiful heart, and spirit……She is loved and will be deeply missed….And Yet, when I think about her-----of us being family and all we shared throughout the many years-----Words alone could never fully express----all she means and has meant to me------I am so thankful, grateful she was in our lives----- leaving an example----- a rich legacy of love…….
Our Tammy will be Loved Always
