Hmmm...Well, I am not for it. But, its a free country and I think people should have the choice, even if I disagree with it. |

I am all for it. After watching 3 grandparents suffer and beg for the pain to end for days. The last one my memere who had horrible reactions to the morphine and scratched herself so bad she was bleeding all over her legs begging for it to be over with and be with her husband who passed many years earlier. . Before I get to that point I will shoot myself in head if I don't get to die with dignity. |

I agree with it. If a person is already dying and just want to end their suffering they should be able to. |

I don't see the problem with it if the person is in a great deal of agony and is going to pass from the illness. Why not have the final days be more peaceful? |

All for it as long as the patient is coherent enough to agree to the medication. |

I am of the opinion that everyone deserves to die with dignity, unfortunately, most of us are not allowed that choice. If it were me or a loved one (spouse, child, friend, etc) I would want the same rights afforded to my dogs. One of the hardest things I had to do was to make the choice to put one of my dogs to sleep, but I know it was the right one. It was better than letting her suffer from her injuries that though would not have killed her, would have decreased her quality of life and prolonged useless suffering, for my own selfishness.
So if my loved one was suffering and they wished either to end it or to have the opportunity to choose when to, I would like them to have that choice. Better to die peacefully among family and friends than to suffer taking your last breath in a hospital bed. Even hospice care is just not enough when you have to be drugged up that much to control he pain you are unaware of your loved ones who have come to say goodbye.
I am of the opinion that both entering this world and exiting it should be a peaceful event surrounded by family and friends. There should not be suffering with either, if we can prevent it. Otherwise, were is the humanity in the human race? |
