~**Winter has arrived
In Celebratory fashion!!**~
Good evening USM Angels
I hope my post finds all doing very well.
Yesterday evening while the contractor was still here, working on a home project for us. We looked outside and saw that it had started snowing. Even though the local weather meteorologist said we weren’t supposed to get much snow, only a dusting. Living here in the mountains we know better! I was going to go on but my honey sweetness said I’ll come with you, as I was closing the door behind me, I looked but didn’t see him anywhere and though it was rare I just assumed he must have went on ahead and got into the pickup, until I realized why when I heard Egan’s bark from inside the pickup. I nearly lost it.lol It’s the 1st time we’ve had him in any of our vehicles other than a trip to the veterinarian. Trips that he doesn’t like.
So, I was surprisingly pleased with how well he did during the trip. He sat in back like a little man. So sweet to us but while I was doing some quick shopping, honey sweetness said when someone came close to our pickup, his warning bark was like thunder as his veterinarian says lol.
With those quick stops, we left the stores while the snow was coming down, it was almost blinding while we were heading in the direction toward our cabin. A young lady I met in the store when picking up Ed’s Birthday cake said that she and her husband also live in the mtns. It is over an hour away from the store where she worked and she said, she had called her husband discussing the fuses for the four wheel drive on their pickup.
There were cars lined on the roadway for over 2 miles on our drive back. We met several vehicles that went off the icy roadway into embankments. Then, we came to the turnoff to our place, the drive had been slow going all the way & the roadway was tricky to say the very least. State police and salt dump trucks were out. While we were nearly at a stand still at one point I could hear the KSP say to some fire and rescue personnel the interstate was getting bad in several places and heard him mention several roads that were as well.
So thankful we made it back to our cabin. My honey sweetness couldn’t wait on the Birthday cake, so I sang the traditional Birthday song to him while he grinned from ear to ear. Later looked at the gifts I bought for him and today we stayed home where it has been warm & toasty out of the inclement weather. We enjoyed a spaghetti dinner and more Birthday cake in Celebration of my Darling, Edward.
In addition I also realized, today is my USM Anniversary! My, how time do fly by!! ;) Hope all are enjoying this lovely Sunday wherever You are……..
I think it’s beginning to feel a lot more like Christmas!
Blessings always~
