That must have been a big relief for you...but know doubt puzzling. I was just reading info on brain surgery a few hours ago but from the 1980's...the consensus I gathered was that improvement would happen if the surgery went well and patients outlook was good....apparently this is very important. So here's hoping for a bright future for you. |

DesertLotus, I am happy to hear the excellent test results!  The fact your tumor is not showing any signs of coming back is very good! It is possible that with time the seizures may suddenly one day just stop. Did the doctor make any recommendations on what could be done?   |

All my doctors will do is recommend medications that could give me kidney failure, liver issues, and dizziness, along with other really nasty side effects. All they seem to care is if the seizures stop, rather than my quality of life. Not to mention the reasons behind my seizures is unknown. I believe if the pharmaceutical industry wasn't built on keeping people sick there would be a way to stop my seizures. They make a big chunk of money every time I have to get my meds and treatments. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ |

The drug cartel seem to command the doctors and the patients get the rough end....not sure anything in our so called modern societies is actually for the benefit of the people. My father had a double heart bypass and naturally was prescribed all kind of medicines at the age of 70...they made him feel so bad that he told his doctor he was going to stop taking them and soon after started to wean them off...after a month he was off all and feeling better....when he saw his doctor and told him some months later the doctor replied well done and good for you. Passed away at 94 years. I would not suggest that you attempt this but it goes to show how two sided the doctors can be. I presume you have thoroughly researched all medicines that your doctor has prescribed...they are known to make mistakes...like all of us and may not necessarily prescribe the best thing on the market. Myself I had a full laminectomy to my lower spine where they removed 4 of the spineous bones and cut 4 discs. I took meications for a week then stopped...this was 2 years ago....however I had my surgery in guatemala city where you have full access to surgeons and medications without all the paperwork...I talked to 3 surgeons before my op and selected the one whom I thought was the best. People complain of smokers and often are very abusive towards them....but when was your air tested in your cities? the amount of pollutants that you breathe in night and day I am amazed that the body keeps working and nobody complains even when they are purposely added to your water. Heavy metals and poisons. You might think about a regular detox. It is well known that high levels of aluminum in the brain cause alzheimers. Naturally with your problem at the moment you have to be very careful to slowly adjust your body..you can recover it's just going to take a while. Probably you find yourself around the house a lot more than you would like.....use this as an advantage...research ....learn...play. once you are recovered you will be literally out the door and exploring what you have missed. Stay focused and believe in yourself. Love and healing thoughts to you |

Sorry about you and experiences author 67541. All I can say is in my own experiences, my doctors don't even know the side effects for what they're prescribing for me. And I'm the one who gets them.  They treat the symptoms, rather than the cure. I've done all my research. I believe I am on the best anti-seizure medication for me. But as for detox, I get reflexology and some body work done. It really seems t make a huge difference for me rather than taking a pill with chemicals. |
