Good thing you got to the doctors in time! Pneumonia can be fatal if you leave it. Did you have bronchitis? Flu? Usually if you have a sinus infection, it can progress to pneumonia if you leave it. The pneumonia should clear up in a few days with the antibiotics.

I have, stay elevated when lying down, use Airborne, and breathe in steam. I also shower twice a day. Just because I'm coughing up some nasty stuff. |

That is awful. I caught it as a kid and had to be hospitalized. |

Pneumonia hits all ages dear little children as well...so age has nothing to do with it...it's generally caused by a chest infection that has needed antibiotics and left too long...hope you get over it well dear, drink plenty of fluids and rest along with your medication... |

I'm so glad to hear that you went to the doctor. DL is right, try to not lay down flat because the drainage goes into the lungs and makes it harder to get rid of the nasty junk in those lungs. Also the steam is great to help break up the mucus in the lungs. If you don't have a vaporizer, simply put some boiling water in a dish and breathe the steam. I usually put a towel over my head to really get a lot of steam to breathe. Do that several times a day and especially at night. Also drink lots of tea or hot beverages. Stay away from milk and cheese, because they can make the mucus worse. Get well soon Tina !!! |
