Emotional or Physical Pain?

So some say that emotional pain hurts more than physical pain while others can deal with emotional pain than physical pain.

For me, it's the emotional pain that hurts the most. I withdraw from people, lock myself in the room and cry buckets. Physical pain is temporary but emotional pain will last longer than I probably think it will and it disables me to function normally.

So which would be easier for you to endure?

Date: 5/28/2013 12:35:00 PM  From Authorid: 64365    It's much easier for me to endure physical pain than emotional pain. My emotions go spirit-deep, so my whole being is in agony when I go through emotional pain. And, that's a pain that cannot be fixed with pain killers or any other kind of medication. It sticks with you. Even time can't erase all of that. Even though you evnetually get some kind of peace, there's always that twinge that reminds you what it felt like.

Lol.. Don't worry about the typos

lol!! I think they are both THE PITS! I find emotional pain somewhat physically painful at times, so I think it's definitely more of a double whammy. I have a very low tolerance for physical pain though so I can't say I really "prefer" it. lol! Depends on what kind of physical pain we're talking. I mean, ripping my tonail back on a metal door was no sundae...but I guess when you put it in terms of how long that pain lasts - yes, TECHNICALLY it was shorter than my emotionally painful memories.

SUPER long story short, I reckon I agree with you.

Date: 5/28/2013 2:55:00 PM  From Authorid: 42945    Everybody hurts sometime (R.E.M's song)...physical pain, to me is much easier to deal with, as you say it can be to some a temporary pain as you have said...emotional pain hurts me to the core dear..it affects my sleep, eating and until I can come to terms with it, makes my life a living hell.
Date: 5/29/2013 7:25:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 66533    Thank you for your replies

So many of us are emotional freaks here. I used to be a cry baby but i've gotten over it somehow..
Some things badly affect you.

Physical pain may leave scars that will remind us of how it once hurt.. But emotional pain will leave scars that will somehow ache even after years and years.

Date: 5/30/2013 8:40:00 AM  From Authorid: 66331    Well I have been lucky and haven't had much Physical pain but I would take that over Emotional pain any day! I hate Emotional pain because there is no cure for it, you can't just make it go away unless you like get drunk but even then its still there and will be there in the morning. Yes over time both go away but I would rather have Physical pain then emotion.....then again like I said, I haven't had much Physical pain, just a sore muscle here and there, never broke anything, and I have only had surgery once, for my wisdom teeth and that wasn't bad.
Date: 5/30/2013 11:13:00 AM  From Authorid: 53427    I am a bit of an expert on both unfortunately. And it's hard for me to choose. They both alone, are enough to wreck your life. But I would have to say I'd rather have physical pain and be a happy person. Sometimes having chronic pain makes you depressed so they can go hand in hand. Like the race car driver, here in the US that killed himself recently because of chronic pain..
Date: 5/30/2013 11:51:00 AM  From Authorid: 64819    Give me physical any day.
Date: 6/7/2013 8:35:00 AM  From Authorid: 12876    emotional pains because physical ones can last a long while and leave scars, but emotional pain may seem to heal leaving scars, but they the scars break open and hurt again, and they last your whole life
