Date: 5/28/2013 6:11:00 AM From Authorid: 21903 It's like people forget that age old advice from their mommas: if you don't have anything nice to say, just don't say anything at all. There is no purpose to putting down other's work. True, I don't enjoy everything I read and if the grammar is poor enough, I can't deal with it (no, mine isn't perfect!!), then I just don't comment....I won't put someone down...its mean and I don't want anyone treating my writing in that way. I guess to answer your question, I guess people do it b/c maybe they feel better knowing someone else feels bad. I sure hope when I have kids one day I can raise them better. |

Date: 5/28/2013 3:12:00 PM From Authorid: 42945 I guess it is how one perceives what good or bad criticism is...what is harsh or bad to some can be taken as honest criticism whereas some may not like to put their honest criticism's on to a story for fear of hurting the author's feelings..If it is constructive and can be taken to be helpful I think it is good and can help many a budding writer..Bad grammar can be annoying, especially when it continues instead of improving by the author..Some people just enjoy harsh criticism for the sake of criticising and not always to be helpful either, for reasons only known to them, whether it be to hurt or makes them feel powerful... |

People love throwing harsh criticism because they are unhappy with their own lives and so, they try to bring other people down. Also, because they are very judgmental without thinking twice or even considering about what the other person is or has gone through in their lives. Don't worry about them. If you do bad, you're bad. If you do good, you're bad anyways. This is the reality of the world. |
